Here are some tips to help you secure your 2" props using dental floss instead of screws. It works on any motor and adds almost no weight!

• ShutterBug85 - My New ...
The titanium screws I purchased are no longer available from that seller. If I find another good deal, I'll update this description later. I believe the size you want is M2 x 8mm.

great tip nice and easy to do. very well explained i found you can just loop the floss before you put it through to save you having to do a second, more fiddly pass-through!

Ha! You amazing person you! I have just done the same thing with my beta 85 except with the LarvaX frame. Same issue. Larger props aren't push on. This fixes my exact problem!

thank you very much for the awesome video and teaching me another trick to the trade as well as some other tips. I also really wanna point out the fact that you built that one whoop for the guy that was in a car accident and is now bed ridden so he can have something to look forward to and enjoy beings hes limited to do most things due to the unfortunate circumstances hes in or was in. i love hearing stories like this an it encourages me that much more when i do hear things like this to help someone out in anyway can whenever I have the option to.I personally would like to tell you your a great man and thank you for doing what you did and do.

Have you tried the azure 2035 or the betafpv 48mm tri blade props? You have to drill out the center of the 48mm props to make it wide enough for the shaft, but they are super lightweight. They worked good for me until I killed my esc in a crash haha.

Great tutorial this is a very handy trick. I would like to ask you a question about props. Do you have a preference for a 40mm bi-blade? HQ or GF?
@MrShutterBug
@MrShutterBug Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the super late reply. I’ve had success with both the HQ and GF 40mm props.

Would those RENY screws work for the props? Would that be better than titanium screws?
@MrShutterBug
@MrShutterBug 4 жыл бұрын
They would work. I think RENY would be slightly lighter than Titanium, but not as strong. Still they would probably be strong enough. I know someone who uses RENY for all his prop screws. I purchased the longest M2 RENY screws they had so I can cut them to length for props, and motors, and FC stacks.

Doesn't imbalance the assembly with the floss possibly concentrated to one side?
@MrShutterBug
@MrShutterBug 5 жыл бұрын
I haven’t had any problems. The floss weighs almost nothing and the gap is really tight. Flies nice and smooth.

@MrShutterBug

It is one of my favorites, yes. I also like small toothpicks and the Babytooth. The nice thing about the ShutterBug85 is that it is so tough! I can take more chances with it, and fly fast through small gaps, and fly closer to people

The best ultralight cameras today are the Runcam Nano3 and the Betafpv C01 Pro. If you move up to a 14x14mm camera then I really like the Caddx Baby Ratel.

Do they make nylon screws that small?
@MrShutterBug
@MrShutterBug 5 жыл бұрын
Yes they do, but it would be a major pain if a nylon screw ever broke leaving material in the hole.

@@MrShutterBug Great channel and thanks for how to floss props. About using nylon screws: Building quads extrem light and for determined breaking point I use nylon screws for all my copters. In rare crashes it happens what you mentioned but holding a small screwdriver over a lighter you can melt it down in the hole and its easy to get it out.
