@Colin Shanley yea trap was made a while ago meaning "traphouse" but EDM producers dropped the house in traphouse and call it trap. Two different kinds of trap. The newer trap mixes traphouse with electro house music, dubstep, some trance and a little hardstyle. So yea trap and traphouse are different genres, trap stemming from traphouse high hats and 808's.

Oh, and design and mixdown are really easy if you know what ur doing. Learned it all from my dad who was a sound engineer for years and then a DJ for a while before he decided to get his PhD.

To be fair it gets called "Trap" so that people can differentiate themselves and make it seem new but this kind of music has been around for ages, just because it evolves slightly or gets some new synths doesn't mean it is a new genre. Drum and bass to use an example, has changed massively over the years but is still the same genre albeit with myriad sub genres.

I'd love to send you a link, but most of my stuff was on my harddrive and that failed, the stuff online isn't very good and is mostly disco or electro. And I'd call knife party Dubstep/Complextro same with xilent, might call xkore brostep.

Well you don't use the exact 808 drum but the 808 bass drum was like the first one to have that heavy sub bass hit, so they basically just made it a more extreme version of that. So it sort of comes from the 808.

Lol. Trap is a genre that has existed since like the late 90's. It was originally just a rap subgenre. Rappers, especially southern rappers, rapped about being in the traps, which are the ghettos where drugs are sold. One style of beats became very prominent in this genre. If you listen to rappers like young jeezy, or waka flocka flame they use very fast high hats and 808 bass hits. Just recently electronic producers started experimenting with this sound and making it a little bit more complex.

Go to google, type in wobble-boss. Pay 99 to 150 bucks for it. Done. Or by the loop packs most of them are using off loopmasters or how about you pay for the 1,500 dollar synth,and the 2,000 (if you go cheap and minimal) rig they use and then record the part and remix it (which most brostep artists can't do, they just buy the loop-pack). It's that simple.

Not all trap sounds like this. The reason all of Flosstradamus' songs sound like this is because, if you haven't heard, they basically sample, or as some people put it, steal, hardstyle songs and change them up a bit.

Dude, I used to make brostep, really successful brostep to, it's not hard. Dubstep, that's hard to do, brostep, it's throwaway music like top 40 pop. Follow the very simplistic formula and u'll be able to make it.
