Hi, enjoyed your video, I used to sketch out letters and small designs when I was younger. I've just got back into cross stitch and have done the Positivity Rules by Caterpillar. I used to make a lot of cross stitch cards as gifts. I used aperture cards which have windows in different shapes, I think that way the recipient can have it up for a while as they would a card but could also easily frame it (if they wanted to). I know what you mean about imposing gifts on people, I like to gift my makes but not everyone is crafty and may not appreciate them.☺

Thank you for your comment! Sketching out the designs is definitely something that has helped me when creating something! Great to hear you have found your stitchy bug again. I think the positivity rules was a popular one. I really like Sally’s designs. I love making cross stitching cards although I don’t really make them anymore. I used to make lots of them but I struggle with small pieces now as I can’t really stitch in hand anymore. The window cards are ace because like you said people can frame them if they want to :)

Hi. Glad you are back for another video. In regard to your inquiry about lighting, I would highly and OttLite clip on or floor stand line if they are available for purchasing and shipping in the UK or via their website. Yes - some of the lamps can be a tad pricey, but a very good investment as you have many years of stitching ahead of you, and you will want to protect your eyesight. I like your planner. Mine is an extensive Excel spreadsheet, but it works for me. At the end of the day, a planner works if it you can easily work it. Say safe and well.

Thank you for your comment. I heard another flosstuber mention this light I will definitely check them out so thank you for this recommendation!! Now that we have the darker nights in the uk I just need something to help me stitch for longer so will check them out! Spreadsheets is a great idea to keep a record of things! Love that!

First time to watch you, and really enjoyed it. You are very sweet, and talented. I love to cross stitch. It is my happy place. Good luck in move. We moved three years ago, and I said the next time I move, only my toothbrush will go along, but of course that was after living in the same place 30 years.

Aww that’s so kind of you thank you so much! So glad to hear you enjoyed my video. Can definitely relate to cross stitching being a happy place! Its my go to when feeling anxious! Its crazy how we moved in with so little and now have so much to move! Hope you are enjoying your new house. :)

Loved this video, thank you. I'm stitching hello deer and hello pumpkin too. And I'm also wondering when to stop stitching on it. I'd like to try and finish it so it is ready to go up in autumn next year I think. How about stitching a heart in a contrasting colour to link yours and your dads hands/arms together?

Aww thank you Lizzie!! 😊My mum said the exact same about connecting with a heart!! 😃I am playing around with the designs still but if I can’t get the hands to look right I think a heart is a great alternative! Thank you!!!

Your work is so beatiful! I am so exited for christmas stitching 😍 i recomend a lightbulb called philips hue. You can use a remote or your phone to change the temperature of the lights. We have those in our appartment and they are great 😊 we are also in lockdown.. scary times.. stay safe! Enjoy the moving 😊

@@CraftivatingCreations that is great! I love how you can costumize the lighting😊 thankfully i am getting a lot of comfort from stitching❤️ doing what we can do to get back to normal. Hi, everything you working on/done is beautiful. And the dancers? So nice, especially as you've designed it yourself, i could never do that. I want to do one of Caterpillars SALS but i came late for the winter tree so im hoping to join in for the new one coming in January. And i love the Positivity rules, might order that one too. Stay safe, hope the moves go ok and looking forward to next video

Awww thank you so much that’s really kind ☺️ I never thought I could design anything but if you get some gridded paper you will be surprised at what you can make :) I find drawing something first and then adding in the squares helps me.

I added Swimming School by Wrendale Designs and Bothy Threads to my Christmas list so I hope Santa comes through for me! I can't wait to see what their new releases are, I just followed them on Instagram. I also recently started a little cross stitch planning, but I use a bullet journal. I keep track of monthly goals and WIP info and notes and it's been a lot of fun! I hope your move goes smoothly!

Are there any helpful hints on counting correctly. Like the deer, when you skipped an s as tea to to the deer. I feel like my counting is messed up.
@CraftivatingCreations3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question :) 1.I would say counting and checking multiple times is key!! 2. I count until I think I am right, then I add one stitch in the place I think I should be and then I count again. At least that way if I have counted incorrectly I only have one stitch to take out. 3. I use other stitches near by to help guide me. Am I 4 squares away from the bottom of the owl and two squares from the left of the leaf etc 4. I use my needle to help when counting and I push my needle into each whole when I count. This helps me keep track of where I am when counting. 5.Aida material is the easiest to count on too so use aida material if you struggle on other materials. I really hope this helps!
