Lovely to spend time with you Jill, I'm shocked to see your video has had 8,000+ views and they haven't subscribed. Their loss, I think you are great and look forward to the next couple of videos you have done. I love the flower cart, the stitches look wonderful, it gives it a real cane basket look. Great projects and keen to see your progress! Take care and happy stitching 🌷🌷 from Judy in New Zealand FT An Aussie in a Kiwi world

I use Libby too. I love your thriftiness. I am jealous over your Craft Store with all the great bargains. I think getting a good deal of someone's previous treasure is the ultimate in recycling.

Your first video was awesome. It is intimidating to film yourself, but you handled it like a pro. Your stitches are very cool, I love how you are so ready to make adjustments and recharting, I wish I could be that confident, lol. I have no idea what store is an issue, but I live in Canada so I probably don't go there anyway. I have wanted to check out some destash groups but am not sure how to find them or what to look for. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day.

Thank you! I have found the destash groups are mostly on Facebook if you use that platform, just a simple search for “cross stitch destash” and you should be able to find some. Best of luck!

I enjoyed your video. I didn't notice the things you mentioned at the end that you thought you should have done differently. I just notice if I can see the project well enough, if the pieces interest me, if I can hear and understand what you're saying. I really loved the fabric color for Hagrid's Hut. It looked the same color as fabric I got for a project. I also love Cottage Garden Samplings, though I haven't done any of these projects. I liked the idea of switching the tiny house to a cooler for the raccoon. What an adorable story to go along. The stocking your Mom made you was really nice. The way you looked at it conveyed a lot that matched how you talked about your mom and I thought that was very sweet.

Great first video! I love fabrics too! I joined a couple of FOTM groups (BeStitchMe and Mystic Fabrics). It's like two presents each month. So fun. I would love to know what the purple fabric you have is...that one was my favorite! I loved all your projects! Thanks for sharing!
@StitchnBooks7 ай бұрын
Thank you! I’ve thought about FOTM clubs but don’t know what count fabric is my favorite to stitch on yet, I’m not loyal to any one in particular. The purple fabric is a Fortnight Fabric (no longer dyeing) “Gobi” linen in 32ct (I mention it in my second video). I found it in a destash group so it was a total score!
@jodibedard43067 ай бұрын
@@StitchnBooks It's really pretty! I have always loved stitching on 32 count but now I want to try 36 because it makes the finish a little smaller. Sometimes it fits so much better, especially for large patterns. Sometimes you need just little extra room or you have to order a bigger piece. So the 36 count helps! Take your time deciding what you like best. :)

How many threads are you stitching on the stocking? 2 over 2 or 3 over 2? I have the original patterns from the Better Homes and gardens book and they are all stitched 3 over 2. That may be why your mom's stitches look different. I stitched both my kids stockings 24 years ago before I ever new about Kooler Design Studio. She probably stitched from the original pattern as well. I recently bought one of the stockings from Kooler Design to get a PDF version and it's a little different. Love your channel, beautiful work!
@StitchnBooks7 ай бұрын
Thank you! It’s 3 over 2 but I had doubts the original from BH&G called for 2 over 2 so I’m happy to hear it’s the same. Maybe time and storage made her stitches look more neat…or my mom is more talented than I am haha

If you are going to get your work professionally framed please do not skint on the margins because the framer will need the margin to enable proper framing to take place. He will want to stretch the cloth to hold it firmly for framing. Stitching Mommy has done a framing clip and you may want to watch that to understand how stitch work is set for framing. I hope this helps you.
@StitchnBooks7 ай бұрын
Thank you for the advice! For the time being I don’t see myself getting anything professionally framed but maybe in the future so it’s good knowledge to have :)
