I always enjoy seeing your finishes, WIPs, and now your other crafts of wool applique, quilting and knitting. My friend had me try knitting a sock in a local class and I've never finished it but you may have inspired me to get it back out and work on it,😀 Your yarns are so beautifully colored for the finished socks and scarf you are doing for winter. I love them! Just want to say that I taught some ladies in my quilt guild your pattern for lined project bags giving you all the credit and directing them to your KZbin video for visual help if they got stuck at home on a new project. We had huge success in the class with everyone finishing their first lined bags ever and I was so impressed with their sewing ability. I gave them all A's as students and thanked them for being great workers in the time allotted to us at the workshop (90 minutes). Thank you Liz for doing these tutorials for all of us to have a successful project that we are proud of making. You are so generous with your time and efforts.💕 Hope you have a safe and fun trip to the Attic with Liz Matthews. Maybe I can visit that beautiful stitching store someday in the future.

Hint: Weigh your yarn. If you started out with a 400 yards, 100 gram skein you know you had 4 yards per gram. To see how much you have left to work with, multiply the weight of your scrap yarn in grams by yards per gram.

Wool appliqué - I am SO hooked on it right now!! Yeah, it takes time to prep, but the stitching goes so quickly. Musselburgh hat has been my go-to knit this year. My husband and I took a 30-day road trip back in June; my car project was Musselburgh hats. My family members are getting hats for Christmas. 😊 I’m currently working in my 13th Musselburgh hat this year. Beware - it is a LOT of knitting. I make mine with a fold over brim - and so, following Ysolda’s directions, the “tube” length from cast on to point of decreases at other end is a little over 20” for a large size. You don’t really realize how much knitting that is until your tube gets about 12” long and you still have a long way to go! Like you, I enjoy double pointed needles BUT for these hats I LOVE a 9” circular. I don’t have to worry about getting the tips of double points stuck in my clothing, stitches falling off the ends while in the knitting bag, etc. It took me awhile to get used to the small circumference circular, but now they are my preferred needle for hats - I can zip along with my knitting!!! So much yarn in my stash and so many projects to make. I love that you’re knitting (again) AND look forward to seeing more wool appliqué!
@elizabethanncanstitch Жыл бұрын
oh wow, that is so many hats!! Luckily Rob doesn't want a folded brim on his so I only have to do about a 14-15 inch tube!

We are also going down to San Antonio. Would you be willing to give me the names of some of your favorite quilt shops and cross stitch shops in any of the towns from Dallas to San Antonio? I am willing to travel 2-3 hours outside where we are staying. I have been looking online but recommendations from locals are the best. Thanks for your help. Keep up the good stitching. You are a credit to this online stitching community.

I dont know any to recommend in Dallas or San Antonio but B&B Quilting in Buda is one of the nicest quilt shops around here and easy to stop at if you're on I35, and we have The Golden Needle cross stitch shop that just relocated to New Braunfels, about 30 minutes south of Buda! The quilt shops I frequent the most in Austin are Honey Bee Quilt Shop and Austin Sewing!

What’s your quick tip for hourglass blocks? So cute nephew hanging with Auntie ❤. I’m here if no one wants to claim Stella!!
