If I visited your house and saw your temperature stitch and you explained what if was I would automatically think the next day after the first row would be under the very first star that you did . I would find going back the other way odd …. Only my opinion & I think it’s absolutely lovely and such a fun idea. Love all your stitching so colourful . X x x. 🇬🇧

Thanks! That is what I've decided to do. And someone even suggested I put a little bead on the first of each month so I can show where one starts, which I thought was a nice idea. I'm so glad you like my colourful stitching! Hope you're enjoying yours too. Happy Stitching :)

Yay for the finish. It is stunning and that fabric, chef’s kiss. I can’t wait for the shindig. I’ve already told my partner while I’ll be sitting beside him, I’ll not be there. 😂

Thanks so much! It is gorgeous fabric! I'm so glad you're looking forward to the shindig! Lol I'm jealous, I wish I could attend all of it but I'll pop in and out and do my best to be there as much as I can. See you there :)

For your Caterpillar temperature stitch, go back to the beginning of the second row to stitch. Think of it like a calendar page.
@adelaidestitches11 күн бұрын
Thank you! That's what I've done and I'm really happy with it. Have you done a lot of temperature stitches? I've also had it suggested to put a bead on the first star of each month to show where the changeovers are which I thought was a lovely idea. Happy Stitching :)

Hi Adelaide, love the fabric you dyed. I want to give coffee/tea dyeing a go too. As to your temp stitch along. How about doing a spiral with the stars. So now go down to the bottom, then right to left then back up to Jan 1st then continue left to right under the first line. Just an idea 😊
@adelaidestitches9 күн бұрын
Hi Judith, you should! Coffee tea dying is fun and so satisfying! And as long as you don't burn in the oven like I did the first time, I don't think you can go wrong. I have decided to go typewriter method for this one because apparently that's what Caterpillar Cross stitch did in their chart (a kind subscriber emailed them for me). But I love the spiral idea and I found this one - www.climbinggoat.co.uk/products/rainbow-temperature-galaxy-cross-stitch-pattern - I'm thinking about for next year. Lol I'm planning earlier and earlier now. Happy Stitching :)

@adelaidestitches How cold does it get where you are in winter. It got up to 38 F today.
@adelaidestitches9 күн бұрын
@@kathyn4267 That is cold! Our coldest high temperature for the day in winter is probably about 40-45 Fahrenheit but that’s like one day a year and only if it’s a really cold winter. Hope you’re rugged up nice and warm!

Hi Adelaide! Your coffee tea dyed fabrics came out gorgeous! 🤩 As always, I have so much fun watching and seeing what you are up to! I’m stitching up some valentine freebies from FQS and I made the primrose valentine stamp collection into little pillows 🤗 Enjoy the virtual retreat this weekend coming up! See you soon and happy stitching.

I will definitely come to the shindig! Yay. I love the Primrose cottage bees as well and have done quite a few. I also did the Honey of a Tiny Town in those same inspired colours. The Quaker will look fabulous on that fabric. It was one of my favourite stitches of last year for sure.

Yay, that's so awesome! I'll see you there! I love the Tiny Towns too. I'll have to track down those paper patterns after I stitch the Primrose bees. I'm so glad you loved stitching the Quaker, I can't wait to stitch Halloween. Just got to do Valentine's first! See you Sunday :)

LOL I never even considered going right to left on row two of the temperature stars... I spent too much time on a typewriter perhaps LOL, so I went ding and right back to the left side for the 19th. best wishes and thanks for another great video. My temp today was 4 deg F. or minus 15 C brrrr
@adelaidestitches9 күн бұрын
I have decided to do typewriter too. A very kind watcher of my channel emailed Catperillar Cross stitch and they said that they used typewriter method on theirs too. I've also had it suggested putting a beads on the 1st of each month so I know where the new months start - I thought that was a cool idea! Wow -15 C is cold. I clearly have no idea what cold is and need to toughen up!!! Happy Stitching :)
@musketeersplus211 күн бұрын
I LOL because you think 20C is cold! I keep my house at 19.5C, which is 68F. Even in summer, 20C is nice weather here given that our average is around 23.
@adelaidestitches11 күн бұрын
Wow! I think I need to toughen up an awful lot for a northern hemisphere winter. And Canada...maybe I need to do boot camp or something to survive the weather lol. So glad you're keeping warm and getting stitching done :)

You are very talented in everything you do. I didn't know that you Knit. I also Knit but I am still a beginner because I taught myself to knit 2 years ago. I have been crocheting for 50 years just like counted cross stitch. I am still learning new things every single day which is exciting. Love your projects. I think for February I am going to stitch on Keep Calm and Cross Stitch by Crocette a Gogo. The colors in it remind me of Valentines Day & the mice are so adorable. I will be stitching mine on 18-count Vintage Country Mocha with 2 strands over 1. The stitch count is 141 x 244 so it is a pretty big piece. We are very cold here, right now it is 11 with the wind chill it feels like -7. Tomorrow will be worse, so I am staying in and stitching. Happy Stitching.

Thank you! That is so lovely of you to say. You're right! That is the great thing about all these crafts, we're always learning. That's what keeps them fun! Keep Calm and Cross stitch is super cute! I haven't come across that one before so thank you. I'll have to add it to my list. 141 x244 is a lot bigger than I expected from the picture too. Wow that is cold weather. I think I'd have to toughen up for a lot for a northern hemisphere winter! So glad you're staying nice and warm inside. Happy Stitching :)

I’m snaking my temp stitch…. Not going on the a new row. I like the snake look and then it’s all connected and not like a typewriter…. lol
@adelaidestitches9 күн бұрын
That's a nice idea! I'll be interested to see how that looks. I have finally decided to typewriter method lol but when I was researching I found this spiral one - www.climbinggoat.co.uk/products/rainbow-temperature-galaxy-cross-stitch-pattern - so I think that might be my plan next year. Thanks for your suggestion! Happy Stitching :)

Love seeing all your WIPs again! With the Temperature a Long, I think it’s 18 stars across. I didn’t count yours but you said 19, so maybe double check that? I’m going back to the left for the 2nd row, like reading a book - left to right
@adelaidestitches9 күн бұрын
Thanks! I have double checked and I had 18...I was worried for a minute lol. Yes I'm going to do typewriter method too. A kind subscriber emailed Caterpillar Cross-stitch for me and they said that's what they did to theirs. So glad you enjoyed my video! Looking forward to our Halloween stitching together! Happy Stitching :)

I am also doing the A Year In Stitches project and am toying with the idea of starting in the top left and going in circles/squares. So I am at the 18th which is the last one on the first line and am thinking about going down the right side, across the bottom, up the left and across the next row of the top and so on. This would likely mean my "summer " would show up as a few bright rings surrounded by winter/spring on one side and Fall closest to the sun. What do you think? I'm in the Northern hemisphere.
@adelaidestitches10 күн бұрын
That sounds very cool! After looking at suggestions, I've decided to do like the typewriter method where I go back to the beginning of the row. Because our summer has been so close to our autumn in temperatures I just feel it doesn't look distinct and wouldn't have the impact. I mean our winter is never even cold enough for snow. But I was looking at what other temperature charts did and found this one - www.climbinggoat.co.uk/products/rainbow-temperature-galaxy-cross-stitch-pattern - which is what you were saying and it's gorgeous! I'm thinking about it for next year. Thanks for your help :)
