Fae, your stitching is gorgeous! You also have beautiful taste in fabric and colors. I really enjoyed seeing all of the lovely things you have to choose from. I do not blame you at all for not using the Tabby Cat Creme Brule that you got in your kit for Florence Mary Dickinsen. It is very dark and mottled and probably wouldn't show the sampler to its fullest potential. I got that linen in 46 count for the kit, and mine is beautiful. However, it must be difficult for the dyer to keep the color consistent since it's a bit wild. I'm looking forward to seeing it on 90's Nirvana. Happy stitching! XOXO Sharon
@stitchingfae Жыл бұрын
Hi Sharon, I agree it is really a difficult color and really pretty. I am thinking using it for more Halloween like samplers, like Jack's Bash from Plum street sampler. I am really hoping 90's Nirvana will come through for me for Florence Mary Dickinsen. Cheers!😊

Hi Fae!!! I have just watched my first video of yours and thoroughly enjoyed it!!! I want to encourage you to use the crème brûlée linen. I too think it is quite garish as linen goes. In one of Teresa’s, kitten stitcher, videos, she was stitching on a linen that I thought was not attractive due to the mottling. When she was done, her piece was gorgeous!!! The heavily mottled linen seemed to soften and smooth itself out with the stitches on it. After seeing this with my own eyes, I have been convinced to use the crème brûlée linen for the sampler. I would have never purchased this linen on my own!!!❤
@stitchingfae Жыл бұрын
Hi Mindy! Thank you for your kind comment I really appreciate you checking my cannel out. I watch her videos but I don't remember her using heavy mottled fabric, I am going to go back and check it out. I was also recommended to wash it with cold water and to see if it softens the mottling. I am thinking of doing that to see if I change my mind. I know for sure if not for this sampler I will stitch Jack's Bash from Plum Street sampler on it. It is really high quality fabric.😊

As always, since the 1st flosstube you amaze be by your projects and work. Ive never stitched a Sampler but seeing your kitted projects and your Gorgeous works and finishes have made me want to try one out. That mottled fabric that was suppose to go with that 1 sampler, I would not want to use on it either. I dont think its because your not brave enough....I just don't think it would look very good on that dark mottled brown..it would take away from the stitches. I love your idea for Fredrik or was it Fredrika...about turning the head so she is facing him. Anyways another amazing flosstube and already waiting for your next 🥰
@stitchingfae Жыл бұрын
Thank you Jodee, I try to keep my interest by stitching different styles of designs, kits, and honestly I think because of it I never stopped stitching over 20 years. The creme brûlée I feel like more Halloween style design would work for it, I just don't see traditional sampler on it, for now.😊

We got some very blotchy crème brûlée by Tabbycat linen for a HATS sampler at the recent Sampler Symposium last month in Mesa, AZ. Most of us found it to be way too blotchy and didn’t match the picture on the pattern either. One clever lady washed the fabric in first cold water, then hot water, then hot water with hotel bar soap. It got MUCH less blotchy, with softer edges to the colors and the brown tones were much reduced and more red tones came out. We all liked it MUCH better and it perfectly matched the picture on the sampler!
@stitchingfae Жыл бұрын
I agree, Creme Brûlée is truly a beautiful fabric and really soft to touch. I am planning to stitch Plum street samplers Jack's Bash or the halloween sampler from Teresa Kougt, Hello Halloween. I am working my way to get brave to stitch HATS. I am still thinking even go back wash it and use for the sampler it was intended for.😊

Your projects are gorgeous! DId you know that Tabby Cat recently made a statement about the mottling on the Creme Brule for the Florence Mary DIckenson, they are willing to refund or switch the linen, admitted it was too boldly marked due to something that happenened while dyeing it.
@stitchingfae Жыл бұрын
Oh, I did not know that, thank you for letting me know. I did check out her Facebook page and saw her statement. Seems like there was only one batch of fabrics with heavy mottling and she was offering exchange for it. I though it was really kind of her, and thank you for giving me heads up 😊

On your Miribilia… do you stitch your Kreinik has you stitch your piece or stitch the Kreinik last after all your cross stitching is complete? I’m stitching Miribilia’s Queen of Freedom and I attempted to stitch the Kreinik as I stitched along, but if I use a hoop or Q-snap the stitches that are used in Kreinik are getting damaged. How are you dealing with this?
@stitchingfae Жыл бұрын
Hi Julie, I do stitch Kreinik as I stitch that area of the design. Only thing I add last are beads. I also use Qsnap but I use felt between the clamps so it won’t damage the stitching. I find that method helps protect my work. 😊❤️
