Happy to have found your channel... I was so fortunate to love my job. When my office closed instead of relocating to another city, I retired. I had so much time on my hands; kept busy by taking a quilting course with 19 other wonderful ladies. Now I find myself alone, exploring a different country for retirement without my sewing machine. I have always loved embroidery so I looked at different channels for ideas. I am one month in regarding my "vacation" and visited a Millinery Shop but was to chicken to buy the fabric and floss for a project. I am a lot like you, I find a certain order to projects and would be hard on myself if I did not finish. I looked into buying a sewing machine but decided against it. I believe I will go back to the Shop and start a new project since I have a month left before returning to Florida. Thank you for sharing. I felt as though we were in the same room 🪡 💕

Hey there! Glad you are back! Love the WIPS and the new fabrics. You may have given other stitcher’s a new way to work on full coverage…I like to mix it up with my stitching too. I say stick to your guns where work is concerned. I would go to HR and see if the situation can be fixed. I found in my career that there are very insecure employees and promises always made and not kept. There is always something you can do..with IT you have a huge variety of jobs to choose from…Happy stitching and I am glad you got to visit with your family and your friend. Hi. Glad to see you back. I had to replay your life update twice to make sure I understood / heard your manager's comments! Is there an employee relations department in your company? If so, please immediately go to them. They will assign a case worker open an incident report and investigate the situation. This guy is toxic and HR/ER needs to know about the situation; investigate it and take actions immediately to address this person's behavior. He is a serious liability to the company, your and your colleagues' livelihood and mental health. If you are not ready to do this or think other colleagues would support your efforts - then perhaps your best recourse is to indeed look for employment elsewhere.

So good to see another video from you. Sorry that you are going through such a stressful work situation. It sounds like your new manager feels threatened by you and rightfully so since he's been training others incorrectly and he's a bully on top of that. Perhaps you can let the company know when you have your exit interview because he is a huge liability. It's hard to believe others haven't reported him already. I have faith you will find a better position that appreciates you since you have a lot of experience in your niche skill set. Your stitch bug will come back when you are ready. Btw, be careful with your tension when you do the checkerboard squares on Beloved (I love that chart). I remember watching another stitcher (Creative Crafty Claire?- she doesn't post anymore) and she did several checkerboards for a full coverage challenge and she ended up with very obvious checkerboard lines in her piece when she filled in the area later. Congratulations on your weight loss! Have you tried lifting the lost weight in a dumb bell or weight plate? It gives you another perspective on what you have achieved. Take care and thanks for sharing.

Sabrina (and all your WIPs) look great. Sorry about the difficulties at your new job-some people are not cut out to be managers. Even if you don't expect them to do anything, you may want to meet with HR to document the issues. (I've worked in HR. Sometimes HR's hands are tied but it's good to get things on the record so they can start to build a file. It sounds like you aren't the only person he treats badly. A company may not be inclined to do anything until it costs them money to have to pay recruiters for the same position because of poor supervision.)-Debbie

So glad to see you back. You most certainly are allowed to have regrets in life - we all do. Hopefully, we learn something from them and move on. Your manager is a jerk - and that's a kind word to use. Having been a manager/supervisor in a prior life, that behaviour is inexcusable and is definitely an HR issue. But - you'd probably find that you're not the first to bring it up and obviously he's still getting away with it. I think your idea to look for a new position is probably best. You're talented and in the perfect field for our times - so all the best with it. Hope to see you back sooner than later. Take care. Steph x

Amazing video as always. I am also a stitcher that is an IT PM totally agree with you that your new position is a not a great environment. Also I would be frustrated to not to be busy enough. Definitely a good time to be looking.

Thanks! Nice to hear that you can relate. IT PM work is tough, hope you are also not getting burned out in this crazy new post-COVID working world. People keep telling me that I should stitch if I have no work assigned, but I’m just not wired that way. If I’m paid to do a job, I want to do it well. ☺️🍁

Welcome back, Kathryn! So glad to see you again! Sorry to hear work is not going well. That is so frustrating. Your description of the type of work you do sounds exactly like what I used to do. I had a somewhat similar situation, (though I was lucky throughout my career never to have worked for an out-and-out jerk like your new boss, but I know they're out there--I've heard the stories.) The last two years before I retired I was close to burning out too, so took another job in the same company requiring minimal effort. It wasn't much fun, but kept me sane and made the transition to retirement that much easier and sweeter, but I couldn't have kept it up much longer than that. Go find something that makes you happy and where you are appreciated. Sounds like you are focusing on the right things--meeting up with old friends, getting away from it all, being healthy and losing weight. Congrats! Such a big accomplishment! Looking forward to seeing your progress on those projects! --Deb

Thank you, Deb! So great to get your comments, hearing your experience gives me hope that I’ll eventually land in the right job! It will all work out, it always does. Still catching up on FlossTube, going to catch up on your channel - I want to see all your progress the past few months so I’ll need to watch ALL the ones I missed!! 🍁☺️

Thank you for continuing to give us videos. A huge congratulations on your weight loss. I only wish I could stay motivated to lose that much weight. Please keep up your videos around. I miss when you are away I know selfish me. You showed some beautiful work even if it was only a little. See you around again hopefully very soon.

I watched and I did notice right away that something is different about you! U look nice, way to go! (you did look nice before also:D). I hope your work stuff will solve, its important thing in life, sadly, we are not all lotto winners:D i also want to retire but way too young for that. I think also that stitching mood comes and goes, mine went away some time ago because I have so many WIPS and I just wanted to do them all, so I got overwhelmed about all of them Stitching is become very important thing in my life, sometimes too important and its not normal:D So I think that kind of breaks are good, then its nice to come back to stitching. But autumn is the best time for cozy stitching so lets go! Autumn greetings from Estonia from sunbeam_stitch!

Lovely to have your stitching update. Unrelated - sounds like you need to check in with HR at your new location - you have a supervisor "challenge" and the minute something doesn't work - it may be laid at your feet. Sounds like you were not the candidate this particular person chose so they are being really. really petty

I was reading on KZbin support that sometimes videos don’t cache properly right after they are uploaded but if you return later the problems are sometimes resolved. Hope that helps - the issues I had with playback seem okay now after waiting. ☺️💕

Life is short. Please look for a new job. This company obviously accepts your co workers behaviour (maybe he is just too exhausting to deal with), and working with a psychopath is not worth the stress. Wishing you all the best. You are looking well. I also need to get active and shift a few pounds!
@NeedleberryStitcher2 жыл бұрын
Great advice, I agree - life is too short to put up with abusive people. 👍 I was surprised at how easy the weight came off when I cut out sugar and processed foods. Makes such a huge difference - not just losing pounds but feeling better overall! ☺️🍁
