Yes! You can stitch on anything when you have such a cheery attitude. 32 count linen isn’t much different than 28 count evenweave. I love how you laugh a lot because it make everyone happy. I am in a happier mode listening to you and stitching goes much easier. Thanks! Happy Stitching!

Great to see you, love your humor and you make me laugh! Wow you sure got a lot of Goose charts, I recently found one of my very early ,1984, stitched pieces. It’s a little bear riding on a goose and it’s still in the hoop! So I plan on leaving it and finish it as is! Yes bears, and geese were the big thing in the 80’s ! Also stitched on 14 count white Aida ,as I don’t believe there was any other choices! Congratulations on all your March finishes. Well, call me impressed. I received the kit. I'm an aida stitcher. I thought, yes, I can do this but I certainly didn't start with the black linen! I have one--one flower done. And mistakes were made but don't they look nice... I'm hoping to have my pieces ready for retreat. Keep us informed on how you are doing. Happy stitching and gardening!

I have been on many quilting and sewing retreats and hade a great time and accomplished a lot including learning from the others on the retreat. I love watching The Way Home with all of its twists & turns. Can't wait for the upcoming season finale tonight. Glad that it got picked up for the 2nd season .. ready for it to start already! I love your Knee High. I stitched it several years ago when it was a freebie in a magazine. Growing up on a farm with corn, I knew I had to stitch it. I used DMC but I put it on a light blue with white cloud looking color in background. I still haven't FFOd it though. It's in a pile of finishes I need to tend to .. want to have it framed in either a red- or a weathered-barn board frame.

I stitch on Aida and 25 or 28 even weave but I just started linen. It is scary but coming along well. I think it depends on what linen you get and how many knots on it. I love how cheerful you are. I need to be like that more. I am a quiet person. I enjoy talking in a small group but large groups intimidate me. I hoping to go to port huron museum stitch together in May. It will be a challenge but with wonderful women. I like seeing your stitching.

I have used fusible web and adhered a piece of black fabric to the backside of a project stitched on black Aida. Have fun at your retreat.

Have a great time at your retreat! Not sure if you know but you can buy black interfacing. I picked up some on Amazon I think to use on my black/charcoal finishes. I have to tell you. I’m a linen stitcher but you can’t pay me to stitch on black linen. I go straight to Aida for charcoal/black. I’m not a fan of torturing myself! I’ve also been known to switch out fabric colors for retreat pieces if it’s not,y jam. As they say, stitch what makes you happy!

I’m an aida or 25 / 28 count evenweave gals too so I would have been completely freaking out about a black linen too! 😮 Congratulations and I love your excitement about it. Same with the one over one. I had a market order from be Etsy shop too that had a really late shipping date, end of April which is crazy. So I nicely messaged her and she said that Etsy was the one that kept bumping back the ship date. She actually had just packed up my order and was planning on shipping the next day. So I would just reach out and ask. Could be not in the seller’s control. You’re really making me want to try gardening. And if I had a greenhouse I would probably be out there stitching in it!! 😂😂 I need warmth and sunshine!! My kids would be like where’s Mom? Oh she’s in the greenhouse stitching again. Hope you have an absolutely fabulous week! Oh and thanks for the tv show suggestion. All of the news feels so stressful that I find myself only want to watch feel good things and comedies. I just checked out Cedar Cove with Andie MacDowell from the library so I’m excited to try that.

Oh my goodness girl! I had breakfast with you this morning and milk may have come out my nose. 😂 I’m stitching April wordplay too - it’s my first one and they’re quite fun to stitch. Here’s a hack that I find helpful for black stitching - I put paper or a white dish towel on my lap and stitch over that. The white in the background makes it easier to find the holes. There's also one in Kansas in August that I may also try to do if June doesn't happen! Otherwise, I'm gonna go on a cheap cruise (thanks for the inspo) in January 2024 and just stitch and drink for 5 days. I wonder how much frogging I'd have to do back on land! LOL

You might try lining the back of the pattern with a very thin, black lining by whip stitching it on, then use interfacing.

Ok, can we talk tomatoes? I'm in 6a, too (Massachusetts). What are your favorite varieties? My favorite cherries are "Barry's Crazy" and of course "Sungold". Love Paul Robeson and Mortgage Lifter, too. I have over 500 of them going because we have a seedling sale every May. Tomato seeds stay viable for over a decade, so you should have pretty great germination on old seeds.

I did end up with 100% germination rate! I had a tomato I LOVED last year they were just perfect! I have no clue what they were though, because my plant marker ink faded 😆 so I'm replanting all the varieties I grew last year and bought a plant marker pen. I'll save seeds this year since I'll know what I have 😆

Is your Etsy seller overseas? Unless they are dying fabric or not in the USA, I'm not sure why processing would take so long? I am so excited for you going to a retreat. We had one locally in Tampa last year and I was stunned at the cost $300) and I don't think that included the hotel, which I wouldn't have needed anyway. Since I've been stitching for so many decades, I've always bought Aida by the yard. I keep a full set of DMC so basically I have everything I need. I feel fortunate! But I'm shocked seeing others spending hundreds on kitting one project. They are fortunate too, I'd say.

You do make me laugh. Stitching on linen is no different than stitching on lugana. You start your first stitch left of a vertical thread and skip one thread the same as lugana. Girl you got this.
