Wow she is beautiful. I finally decided and ordered my first and it will be the letter A by nora corbett, its coming on Wednesday and then I'll be ordering all the supplies. I am so so excited but i dont know what to do about fabric. I decided to do it on 32 evenweave because i think it wouldnt look good on 28 (thats the one im comfortable with) .but i dont know what colour,, 🤔 its a bit stressful to me as im not good with colours and i dont like the brownish its done on, i think it looks a bit dated. So would like something bit more modern but theres just so many to chiose from its overwhelming for me

I completely understand being overwhelmed by the choices out there - and wanting to change it to something more appealing to you and your own style. I'm not sure if you have a color scheme in mind, but after a quick look I was thinking a nice light gray or aquamarine might look nice, or for something more glamorous, you could get a something with some shimmer in there. I think having a look on Etsy might be a good place to start - there are lots of hand-dyed fabrics that are really fun. I usually get my primary threads out and then try to hold them next to a similar color as the fabric I'm looking at and see if I like how it looks. Good luck!! 😃

@@StitchesBits hi thank you so much for your reply, i did order a fabric im still waiting for the chart though and was wondering if I could pick your brains again. So its a 32ct and i heard people doing it 1over 2?or do i use 2threads as i would normally do. And another is i have ordered the fancy floss which is beautiful but also variegated so i know i have to do full crosses but does it matter what direction im stitching? (do i go up and down or left to right or it doesnt matter). Im probably over thinking it a bit but dont want tondo it wrong. Will it state in the pattern if im doing it with 1 or 2 threads? No worries, Alena! So you'll use 2 threads unless the pattern key indicates otherwise. On the fabric, you'll stitch it 2 over 2 - meaning that you will skip a hole in the fabric for every stitch. Here is a blog with a great explanation and illustration that I think will help: stitchedmodern.com/blogs/news/how-to-stitching-over-two-threads# Essentially, the 32ct will stitch like a 16ct aida because you are using every other row/column. As for the direction of your stitches, it doesn't matter - just stay consistent throughout the entire work. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
