So nice to be in your own sewing space. I love your projects. I don't count a kitted as a WIP, but there really isn't much of a difference. I think that's why I just start them instead of leaving them just kitted. It's much easier to pick something up and just work on it than actually starting a project, for me at least. Your mother in law is amazingly talented. The things she made for you are great. Congrats on 2k subs!

Ridding your stitching of hoop marks-- this is what I do. When I finish a piece (I never iron as stitching) I use trouser style hanger, the kind with clips and hang my work. Then I take that into the bathroom and hang it about 8' away from the shower. I just leave it there for a few days and through a few showers till it looks just plain wrinkled and no hoop marks. I take it OUT of the bathroom and hang it on it's own for a few days and at some point I remember to take if off and add it to the hanger that has a bunch of my completed stitches clipped on it in the closet. I have left some in the bathroom for longer depending on the piece. I've had no problem with bleeding threads but I do manage the humidity levels it's subjected to. Use the proximity of the hot shower to help loosen up the fibers, the weight of the piece does the rest of the work, usually. For stubborn ones, I have clipped a dowel to the bottom to give evenly distributed weight and pull out the wrinkles but not for long as I don't want to warp the piece. the added weight of the 4 clips with the dowel is enough. Because humidity levels are always going to be higher in the bathroom, after I take it out of the bathroom, I leave it on it's own to de-humidify I guess before adding it to the hanging stack. my plan is to iron THE STACK but I haven't gotten there yet. I also roll some up loosely but hanging them really does the heavy lifting over time making ironing a breeze in the future. Since I haven't gotten to my stack yet, I should probably hang some acid free paper between each one....hmmm... maybe I'll go order that now. Thank you for the video and hope this helps!

Getting projects wet is scary- some fabrics spot and threads bleed. I spray starch on the back and iron it. If it has beads I put a towel down first so they have a cushion. Happy birthday!!

I don't count kitted projects as WIPs. But once I have something fully kitted it is hard for me not to start it. I think the blue fabric will make it more cutesy than spooky Halloween. Beautiful stitching.

Happy September birthday. Mine is Sept. 10. I'll be 75, so I'm a bit older then you! I am almost finished stitching Hello Halloween. I started by stitching the curved border line all the way around. When I got to the last side I discovered it was off. The problem was that I assumed the different turns of the border were the same. They aren't. The 2 lines under the border cats are 25 & 26 stitches long. The side bars are 10 & 11 stitches and the slanted bars are 6 & 7 stitches long. So I frogged the line and started again. I also recharted the border cats. I didn't change them very much, so as to keep Teresa Kogut's style. But to me they looked like munchkin cats.

Spray the back with water and make sure your iron is hot. It should steam out the hoop marks. I have figured out that fabric dyers are cutting their fabric before dying. I found the same sizing issue with another dyer. They should dye then cut it so it is the size it is supposed to be. My fabric was an inch smaller on both measurements.

Happy belated Bday! Olga’s stocking is gorgeous & I love your kitted projects! For those hard hoop lines I use one of those wool pads to iron on & a few spritzes of Mary Ellen’s Best Press- although I’m not 100% sure about colorfast so I don’t spritz on my fancy floss stitches. Does your mother in law have an online store because WOW obsessed! 😮😍

Hello again! I am so happy to be caught up with your last few videos. I am very much enjoying them. Ooo I totally understand about the room. I am very lucky to have a home office that is also going to be my craft room which is slowly coming together and I really do think that is making difference in my stitching/crafting mojo. Happy Belated birthday! Mine is coming up Sep 29th and I can't wait! Beautiful fancy ladies- iI have not started a Bella either but have soo many I want to do! I don't count fully kitted as a WiP - only if its got stitches in it - an even then, sometimes I don't even consider it really a WiP, if I am not working on it. Like it is ready to go, to the point were I have a place to start because there are stitches in it, but haven't stitched on it since that first few stitches! Your WiPs are great, I do love seeing them! It was wonderful to visit with you and I really enjoy your channel! So glad I found you through Morgan (What's Morgan stitching?)!- I look forward to seeing you again soon!

Oh! And I don’t remember in which of the last three videos you mentioned it since I binged them 😂, but I get so frustrated to when a color is asked for and there’s like 7 stitches.. I mean what is that?especially if it’s a nicer thread! I did a bird pattern once that asked for a packet of beads- it just used ONE bead for the eye. I was very, very new and didn’t think to look over the pattern, but I was like Come ON!

@tattooed_stitcher Жыл бұрын
Helloooo!!! Thank you for bingeing 🤣 that’s how I watch flosstube too, and happy birthday to you!!!!! I like your thoughts on even if there’s only a few stitches in it’s not really a wip if your not actively working on it! Makes sense!! And yeah suuuuper annoying about beads and threads. I’ve learned my lesson on looking the chart over that’s for sure!

I use a steamer to get my hard, hoop marks out. But before I got my steamer, I used one of my daughters natural sponges and laid it on a towel, got the sponge wet, squeezed it out and then just bloated it.

Take the baby to the park 2-3 days a week. That fabric you were not sure about-the camera made it look too blue for a Halloween piece, but that is just my opinion.
