Congrats on your HUGE finishes! What an accomplishment! Loved seeing your WIPS and hearing about everything else. I don't have tips for stitching quickly, I just find that some patterns have me stitching like lightning and others are slow going. I'm so excited to see another video from you

I love how the sea witch turned out! My qsnap has crushed my linen before. I soaked it in water for about an hour and it fluffed back up. Good luck!!

See, I’m afraid to soak it in water bc I don’t want the color to bleed on the hand washed fabric…

100 Owls by Owl Forest is my favorite thing I have ever stitched - can't wait to see yours done with the variegated OF floss, it's going to be soo good! I will definitely be joining in on #owlforestfriday soon! Great episode :)

I am really loving your flosstube videos. You have such a bright personality and it’s just so fun to watch! Congrats on the fantastic finishes! I got much faster at stitching when I got a lap/table stand and learned to stitch two-handed. I’m still not super speedy, but like you, I’m definitely more of a process stitcher so it works for me.
@alliziscrafty Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m working on getting faster stitching two-handed. My boyfriend calls my corner of the couch with my Lowery stand and all my stitchy stuff “the command center” 🤣🤣

That was so much fun!! Your lunar swaps (both send and received) are LOVELY! I'm going to echo what Julie said about your finishing--it looked great on screen and your partner probably LOVED it!! I can't wait to see highlights from the Grace Notes retreat, I hope you had a blast!

Hi Alli! I’m enjoying #OwlForestFridays, even though sometimes they are Saturdays or Wednesdays. I’m trying to hit my bee sampler at least once a week. You asked for tips on speedy stitching. Let me tell you all about Power Hours, a thing I’m obsessed with right now. Just tune everything out (including your phone) and stitch for an hour straight. It helps to take a before and after photo. I bet you’ll be surprised at how much you get done in an hour and also you’ll see improvement as you do it. Love your face! And the microphone sounds great!!

Hello Alli !! It’s wonderful to see you again. 😊 Congratulations on 2 finishes, they both are amazing!!! Count me in for #Owlforestfriday SAL . Thank you for the birthday wish and for helping me celebrate with a start on Summer Quaker. Woohoo 40ct !!! You got this !!

Hi! Loving your video! For the q-snap marks, try using a very stiff brush and brush it off, it's white from the qsnap snappers. I use the plastic brush that's on the end of my fabric pens. I get those marks on my dark fabrics unless I add felt pieces that is as wide as the frame. So for future projects I recommend adding about 2 inch by frame width pieces of felt or fabric under the snappers (that is definitely not the word for those, but hey). I love the notion template! I haven't started to add my stash but I have started to track my WIPS and my 2023 finishes in it.
@alliziscrafty Жыл бұрын
Adding my stash is the not fun part but it’s going to be so worth it hahaha. Thanks for the advice! I sometimes worry that adding another layer of fabric would make the marks worse bc then the fit will be tighter, but at least then the fabric is protected…good to know that it works well for you. Maybe I’ll try it. Do you use a specific color of felt?
@marika.stitches Жыл бұрын
@@alliziscrafty I haven’t had any issue with colored felt, so I add what ever felt I have. I have bought a big pack that is letter sized sheets (use them for other things also) so when ever I need new ones I take what ever color fit with the project or color I have most of. I use mine for years before changing them tho :)

I can’t offer suggestions to get those lines out of your fabric but I can tell you I put felt over my over my fabric and under the clamp for the qsnap and it I haven’t had any problems. Your stitches are impeccable. I’ve had my eyes on the Halloween at Hawk Run and I might have to pull the trigger on it.

Honestly it’s so much fun to stitch on. Even if it might never get done - I’m enjoying the process!

Enjoyed your video, especially the review on Nati’s Notion template, especially in regards to the ADHD brain because that’s been holding me back, I’ve been burnt too many times buying organizational aids 😅 Your Lunar Swap FFO is cute! I’m not a creative finisher/finisher in general myself but that gold frame is a nice touch. Im actually just trying to decide on a fabric for 100 owls for a September start and have way too many OFE patterns myself so I’ll try and stitch in Fridays if I remember 😊
@alliziscrafty Жыл бұрын
Honestly I’ve gone through exactly the same thing. So many abandoned systems hahaha. But I find it easy to input things and the info that you’re entering is stuff that you actually use and want to know, so it doesn’t feel like organization for organization’s sake, if that makes sense.

Your new mic is sounding great!!! Your lunar swap piece looks freaking fabulous- don’t feel bad about your finishing! I would have been thrilled to get that. And the piece you received is AWESOME! Everything I’ve seen from this swap is just so good. I’m still waiting to get mine in the mail 😅

Your finishes are great! I'm about to start my first Nor Corbett, "Halloween Fairy". Ironing can help with the marks, since the big one in on the outer area, you could frame it so it doesn't show. Happy belated birthday!
