Welcome to flosstube and such a great job with your beginning videos! I loved your wip parade. You have so many projects that I absolutely love and it's so fun to see them being stitched. Happy stitching!

I am so glad you got brave and posted your flosstube episodes - I really enjoy seeing your wips. And, ironing just takes time away from stitching, so never worry about that! Lol.

Another great floss tube! I am very excited to see the Hello from Liz Matthew's Hallows Eve in a larger size. I'm going to stitch it on maybe 14ct and leave off the Hallows Eve. Although yours is stunning. I agree about your ball pieces. Those ladies need to brighten up😂 . Love your accent...I'm from the south so I'm sure I probably have one too. Looking forward to your next video ❤

Deb, I just love your Quaker!! My husband is watching with me. He said, “she sounds like the last person you were listening to.” I said, “that is her!”. About that time you commented on your hairstyle from the previous video! I was cracking up! He likes your “new” look!😅

lol. My goodness. That hair. I will probably continue to need to apologize over my hair as I don't always have time to fuss. The latest KZbin is as good as it will ever get, as I had a meeting in the office, so I was "public presentable". Liz Matthews is a genius and Michaels did a fabulous job framing the Quaker Pumpkins. That was my first ever quaker.

Hi, again, Debbie . I enjoyed seeing you and looking at all the things you show. Please continue showing the finished pieces in your home. I enjoy that and the progress on your wips. It is 74 degrees today, in the mountains of North Carolina. It's amazing. But I love it. Have a great November, and I will see you next time.

Hello Deb from another south Jersey stitcher (Burlington County, Medford) just watched all of your Flosstubes and enjoyed them all! I wish we had a LNS here and didn’t have to travel to far to Stitch by Stitch in Cape May, but I do love that store. I also am turning 60 before the end of the year and remember those back stitch heavy patterns from years ago. Keep up the good work! I also heard about your from Pam and Steph!

I love Stitch by Stitch, and usually try to visit there when I'm in Cape May, but I agree it is a bit of a ride!!! I love/hate backstitching, but since way back when EVERYTHING had backstitch, I'm ok with the more limited amounts of it in my current life!

Hi Debbie! Great video. I recalled a stitcher who was working on Summer Ball. She has completed it, I believe. The flosstube channel and the stitcher is Kim Hollenback and she showed a nearly completed wip on her flosstube episode 120. You’ll be able to see her colourway. I believe she is using all of the called for floss. Take care!

Thanks Carol! Yes, I stitched A Summer Ball in the called for anchor floss. The bigger problem than the backstitch is the quarter stitches in the chart. They're everywhere in their faces, hair, edges of clothing to help smooth out lines and make curves. It would be difficult to pierce the fabric threads on 20 ct to make those stitches. I did A Summer Ball on 28 ct over 2, and I stitched another of their designs A Victorian Xmas Eve on 14 ct and pierced the fabric for the quarter stitches. I like your WIPs and finishes Debbie! - Kim H

I watched all three of your introductory videos. I appreciate that you stitch some things that are a bit different, I am also a bit like that. Some flosstubes show everyone working on the same things, so the variety is nice! Thank you for sharing!

Hi - enjoying your floss tubes. Enjoy seeing the kitted projects that you are working on - nice work!. Ambitious Person you are! The one with the ball - you may want a lightly mottled cappuchino color way or light mocha background to make all the lighter dresses stand out. I used to go to Needleworkers delight in on Route 1 too - but now Jim has an etsy store where you buy zweigart fabrics (Needlework with Jim). (he is so sweet too!) - But i bet you know that already. Look forward to more of your work! Monica

I love the magnetic hanging frame that you have. This gives me a few ideas on how to stitch and finish some future projects. I want to commend you on uploading your initial floss tube. I filmed many intro videos thinking this would be the one only to not upload it. Many months later I finally filmed one that I settled on sharing, which was uploaded 2-3 weeks after filming.

Hi Deb. I have stitched pagent kings, twice, years ago. I stitched the first one for my mom and liked it so much I did one for myself. The designer is Sany Orton who designs for Kooler Design Studio. I did mine on 14 count aida. Also did Amid Amish Life like Brian, but on 14 count aida. Good luck with the ball piece it will be beautiful. ❤

I just finished a piece by Teresa Kogut on 20 count - 2 threads of floss. I just used a #28 needle ( Piecemaker) and absolutely loved the stitching. I just tried a few back stitches on it and no problems. I love the Pagent Kings - so rich looking! I'll see if I can find the pattern somewhere! I have been stitching a full coverage on 25 ct even weave and boy - it is a challenge. I'm wishing I'd used 20 ct Aida! Ha! I actually wish I'd found a piece of fabric that looked like the background and I could just stitch the figure... for my youngest son - called Beer Dragon. Black, navy, chocolate brown and 9 shades of dark to med grey for the bkgr. Not fun. Happy somewhere in the world there is warm weather... enjoy!

Great progress! As to the Summer Ball fabric, I believe from what I remember from when Kim Hollenback stitched it a few years ago, you need to stitch over two, so a higher count fabric, as there are some unusual stitches that are tall and skinny or short and fat, which I would guess would be very annoying to do on aida. I would have to go back and watch her videos from when she was explaining it to be sure though. I have been very tempted to get that one as well. If it's still available anywhere that is. Happy stitching!
@stitchinginsouthjersey07132 ай бұрын
I read your reply and panicked a little so I went back to look at the chart. It actually looks like there are some quarter stitches but the rest look like full crosses, so I'll manage. So if you are thinking of getting it, there don't seem to be a lot of specialty stitches, just a LOT of stitches in general!!
@HeidiVieceli2 ай бұрын
@@stitchinginsouthjersey0713 From what I recall, it's a full cross, but it's a skinny cross, so 2 high, but only 1 wide (or visa versa)
@HeidiVieceli2 ай бұрын
@@stitchinginsouthjersey0713 So I just purchased the pattern to double check, and there are some of the stitches I mention, but not a ton. There is a ton of partial stitches though. The skinny ones I mentioned have the symbols directly on top of each other, or directly next to eachother, instead of in opposite corners.

I'm glad you got the floss cards. I think with all the wins you have, you would benefit from having a master file of floss and just use floss cards you can keep 8n the project bags. I only have 1 or 2 at a time but I use acrylic reusable cards too.
@stitchinginsouthjersey07132 ай бұрын
The floss cards really do solve a lot of problems. I can keep the master set, but I don't have to keep getting up to change colors.
@Sneezy19562 ай бұрын
With the 20 count make sure you stitch with one strand of floss and it shouldn't be to tight to back stitch. And the mens breaches on... the summer baĺ maybe go kahki so yo don't have to do white on them. Im loving your floss tube lots of great. WIPS and your finishes are beautiful.

Have you considered doing the other Seasons in the Village on 28 count fabrics dyed with colors you like? They will be the same size as the cream one? Or is it that you don’t want them as big? I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I look forward to seeing you in December.

Sorry, the men in red are what you would call red coats, they are military army men, all officers. Just spotted that.

Do not change the 20 count for 18 count. Back stitch will work fine, I do it on 32 count with ease. The picture is showing the fashion for the period of The Regency, (in the UK, Napolean era in France,) basically the1800's. Yes evening wear for men was white trousers and pale colours for women all day, though they could get away with some slightly darker hues in the evening. I would suggest you do not use the TV series Bridgiton as a guide, watch a BBC Pride and Prejudice or Emma to help you with the colour choices. There again, you should do you, I just like the era hence knowing what colours were socially acceptable. Hope you are not offended by this comment and it was not my intention. 😊
@stitchinginsouthjersey07132 ай бұрын
Not offended at all! Always happy to get feedback! I did know that women's fashions in the Regency era tended towards the paler, more subdued shades, but the ladies at my Summer Ball will most likely be the more "scandalous" ladies of the era!
