Hi, This is a beautiful pattern. I am not new to cross stitching, however I am wanting to transition from Aida to linen. I know how to stitch on linen, but how do you count accurately on linen? Thanks.

That is so beautiful and ty for the tips. How long did this large pattern with this detail take? Is that back stitching around her chin?

What is the benefit of using 28 count and stitching every other hole rather than using 14 count and stitching every hole?

Hi Patrick. I've used 28 count linen over two holes. I noticed the fabric is softer and stretchier to aida. Some people prefer the look (and possibly the feel) of 28 count as opposed to 14 count. I did find it a bit harder to count over two especially if going in a random direction. It's usually down to personal preference.

When you do a row of the same colour (left to right) do you find it is easier to do the one diagonal stitch for the entire row and then go back and do the other.....or do you stitch the entire X individually (completing the 2x2 stitch) before you go on to the next?

Someone mentioned to me that when doing the loop method you use one strand because you’re going to fold it in half to make two strands by folding it in half but if you want to use one strand could you still do the loop method please explain how I would be able to do the loop method with one strand without folding it in half to make it 2 strands

Hi, thanks for your question. I've never used a one strand loop start, you can check Needlebugg here on KZbin has a video on this method I believe.

I know it’s been a while, but can I ask if you used one or two strands of the metallic for this count?

I'm not 100% sure I can remember, but I did what the chart called for and i think it was two.
