I love your framing. I think we went to the same framing school. Lol! I’ve watched since you started unexpected visitors and am thrilled at how lovely it turned out. And congrats on your flosstuberversary! Can’t believe it’s already been a whole year!

Thank you! Glad I’m not the only one with a “good enough for the effort it took” mentality towards framing 😆 I’m so happy with unexpected visitors as well and love that I get to see it on my shelf now. A year really did fly by!

It's interesting how things start to multiply (musrooms). I had this happen to me when a friend bought me a cow t-shirt, and all of a sudden, everything I was getting was referencing cows. Loving your wips - and your realistic plans. Botany

Congrats! I've been watching you just about when you first started. i love your calm and "un-noisy" style. And, although I was a social work major, I took Botany as my science requirement. I just love learning about trees!

Enchanted forest looks so good in an arched frame! And the margins turned out great! I keep on eyeing unusually shaped frames at Winners (it's an outlet chain in Canada), and every time I see the arch-style frames, I want to get one, but I never know what would fit in it, and your piece is very inspiring. Happy stitching!
@STEMxSTITCH10 ай бұрын
Thank you! I was afraid that I wouldn’t have left enough fabric, but I got lucky with the piece! Normally my margins would have been smaller!!

Another great update and nice job on the finishes. The curved frame looks awesome. Love you 💚 PS, your sidekick was well behaved.
@STEMxSTITCH10 ай бұрын
Thanks ❤️ I really like the curved frame and it has a great spot on the bookshelf now! Nugget is a very big fan of the new daybed, it’s made him much better behaved in the office to have a place to cuddle up and nap!

Nicole, enjoyed your finishes, also really like the curve frame as I had not seen anything like that before. Learn something new everyday…LOL. Love your Botany stitchery. Congratulations on being with us for a year and sharing your projects. Kindly, Deb

Happy one year of flosstube 🥳Well done on all your framing - your elegant lace and the curved piece are especially effective! I like the idea of tonal stitching. I'm planning on starting a piece stitched in white on grey, which I think is a similar idea.

Thank you so much! White in grey sounds lovely, I’m really feeling these low contrast color choices lately!

Love the finish of Elegant Lace. I'm doing mine with B5200 on a deep red...but I have a very long way to go. Not stitchy related, but I noticed Nugget has a window perch high enough to jump to get into. I wondered how that's been working out. My cat is kind of a chonk at 14 lbs, and he doesn't always plan things out before he leaps so he can be a little clumsy. I'm afraid he would pull it off the window or worse, break the window.
@STEMxSTITCH10 ай бұрын
What a gorgeous sounding color choice! Nugget loves his perch and has a fine time jumping into it. He is a larger cat, even at the heathy weight he is at now he is around 14 lbs and it’s no problem, just have to make sure the window is clean and the suction cups are stuck on really well. He is pretty sure footed though.

I loved the update and learning how you frame your pieces. I love your new fabrics that you picked our, and seeing all of your progress. The light colour 32 count would look great with a botany piece stitched on it.

Oh thank you! 😊 they had been sitting in my closet for so long and I was starting to get sad that I didn’t have them ready to put around the house. I am running out of space for my stitching though! Time to gift some of my smalls I think 🤔 thank you for the kind words ❤️

@STEMxSTITCH for my smalls I was thinking about a large frame that is sectioned for several photos and just putting all of them in there as a mini gallery for the random things I've made. Just wanted to share this idea in case you can't bear to part with the little ones!

With the Enchanted Lace piece - if i stitched this on a maize gold linen with navy floss - do you think the floss being dark would hinder being able to see the pattern detail, or no?! Thanks!! 😊
@STEMxSTITCH10 ай бұрын
I don’t think it would hide the design at all! I’ve seen a couple people (most notably @imogenxstitch) stitch this in dark/black flops and they have been beautiful!
