Hi Kathy. Greetings form the UK. I've recently discovered your Floss Tubes! I'm a returning cross stitcher after stitching many years ago then life and career took over and it was a casualty of lack of time. I love seeing your stitcheries and all the different ways of finishing them - so inventive and inspiring. I am so drawn to Brenda Gervais designs but they are hard to find in the UK so I scoop them up whenever I see them on the second hand market! I have discovered things have moved on quite a bit in the cross stitch world - fancy flosses, over dyed linens etc etc I'm having a ball uncovering all this new stuff! Thank you! I have to finish as I go or I end up with too many things to finish! In 2020 all I did was stitch and I had 43 things to finish. I finally got caught up and now I finish as I go. Lesson learned. 😁🪡🧵🪡✂️

It was easy to finish! I just stitched a quarter inch from the outside of the stitching and rounded it out around the feet and arms. Stitch all the way around, make a slit in the back fabric, then turn it and stuff it. Whip stitch the opening closed and cover it with a piece of wool or felt and that’s it! Good luck! 😁

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but did you trim your pieces before stitching or after? I’m just not picturing sewing the shape as opposed to like when I finish a pillow. Would LOVE a mini demo on finishing these shapes. I think Maggie Mae is so adorable! @sewnsews6389

@Christine-ix7tp I always leave plenty of fabric around the design, sew around it, and then trim it to about 1/4” seam allowance. It is much easier to sew it together that way. You can also take a pencil and draw around the shape on the back side then follow your pencil line when you sew it together. I hope that helps! 😁

Yes! Thank you! I sew the rick rack on by just coming up through the top of the pillow and through the rick rack, take a little stitch and back down through the rick rack, catch a little bite of the pillow and back up through the rick rack to repeat the process. You can also attach a bead on top of the rick rack when you take your stitch. It’s a little fancier! 😄🪡🧵🪡✂️
