Enjoyed the update. Soooo, to make a long story short, we were moving back from Florida to Michigan. My daughter was 18 months old. She would get car sick after being in the car for 5 minutes. We had a 1300 mile trip in front of us. 5 minutes in she started puking and was sick the entire 1300 miles. I am so sorry you had to endure that awful flight, I truly sympathize with you. Thanks for sharing and happy stitching!

I did not fly with my kids when they were young. But my older son used to get car sick all the time so he was always throwing up in my car, he’s 21 now, and they grow up so fast. Hang in there!

My kids are 18 months apart. We flew from Los Angeles to Milwaukee when they were a year and a half and three years old. We took the red eye. It was awful! They cried and didn’t want to sleep. My son wanted to get up to use the airplane bathroom every half hour. He wouldn’t use the bathroom, he just wanted to walk there. I was beyond exhausted! Hang in there, it gets easier.

My first time to watch. Well done. My story is a car ride with my kids when they were 11, 9 and 6. They just wouldn't stop bugging each other in the back seat. Constant bickering. Give me the good old pee days...

Thanks for the video! Glad your flight is over, now it becomes a hysterical memory! Lol. My worst flight was when the turbulence was so bad, the lights went out in the whole plane! hate flying to begin with, so the fear mentality was at least tripled! We made it home fine, thank you Jesus! Don’t really have an embarrassing moment but hope I am still eligible. Have a great stitching week! xo Tina

I like it when people tell life stories, It feels like I’m sitting in a stitch meetup. I don’t know any stitch group where people only talk about stitching, everyone tells their weekly stories. I like getting to know the people I’m Watching otherwise I might as well just look at Pinterest or instagram . 💖

What an awful journey! My daughter once wee’d all over the passenger seat of my car! We were stuck in traffic, stuck still, and she simply would not get out to go on the hard shoulder. Poor thing. Take care Erica. You are right to take a day off. You need it x

Enjoyed the video and the life update !! Loving the castle! The funny stories always happen when my husband had the kids, he is in the Disney store in the mall and my daughter was 3 and potty trained but she got excited and stood there and tinkled in the middle of the store , my husband was so embarrassed and was apologizing to the young clerk and all she said was “ don’t worry that happens all the time “ 😂 needless to say we left the store with a whole new outfit and two toys for each of the kids ! Thanks much ! Kim in Fla 🌴

Fall is the best time for gardeners! My kitchen table is covered with canned goods from the garden. Try pickled peppers with all the extras. The best thing is it takes no fridge space. Or wait until the tomatoes are ready and make salsa. Actually you can even make green tomato salsa. Corn, beans, and peas can be blanched and drained and frozen. But even if the weather gets cold just throw blankets over it overnight. I just got a bunch of cheap sheets that stay outside. It is super easy to do, I started when I was like 10. Sorry to hear about your plane experience. When my daughter was just one, we ended up on a flight that was delayed after boarding due to weather. After over 90 minutes we finally left. I ended up missing my connection and had to be rebooked for the next day. No hotel was offered and I was in a city I knew nothing about. So we stayed in the airport. When we finally arrived, my luggage was not there. My luggage with “frozen” lobster and crab as we had been visiting relatives in Nova Scotia. It was to arrive either in 6 hours or whenever lol. So I grabbed my car and told them to call when it arrived or I would come back. 6 hours later I returned with bags of ice. Thankfully it arrived about half an hour later. I packed my cooler and proceeded to drive 3 hours home. My 12 hour trip ended up taking over two days. With a one year old. She didn’t care and thankfully I had packed for everything lol. Oh and then there was the time my luggage with all my Christmas gifts for family got lost on Christmas Eve after another overnight airport stay during a massive blizzard. Take care and enjoy the garden harvesting.

Wow that definitely trumps my bad flight! I couldn’t imagine being stuck in an airport with little ones. I’ll have to look into pickled peppers. I don’t know how to can so I’m having to find ways to preserve without that.

Erica D. House best time to learn is now😉 once people get over the idea that it is hard you have won the battle. Jars, lids, big pot is all you really need. Just follow the recipe(or just dump it all in like I do lol). The longest part is prep. Put in jars and put the jars in the hot water bath for the time according to size and elevation. Take them out and let them sit to cool. The pop of the lids is such a great sound.

I love that house too! The worst flight I had was when my oldest was 2 and the flight was so bad I thought we would all die! He had to take Benadryl to stop the vomiting. He has bad motion sickness and the plane just dropped like 10 thousand feet. It's was so scary. He didn't do well with the drop and that is why I won't fly with my kids till they are older! You need to take you time! It's so hard with little ones. I have 3 little boys and work midnights. Most of the time I need a vacation from my vacation!

I had a flight with a 3-4 year child, her mom, and her grandma next to me. The mom sang to the child much of the flight and when the refreshment cart came around, the child put her finger in my Dr. Pepper. Ugh! The dear child wasn't even scolded or told no.

Oh my gosh... you poor thing on that flight! My daughter is only 15 months... so she hasn't been on a plane yet. However, I used to fly alot across country. One of my last flights I was sitting on the window seat and the plane was packed and warm... the guy next to me kept falling asleep on me!!! I had to keep gently pushing him off of me... he apologized multiple times... but I don't like being touched by strangers, especially sleeping ones. Lol. It was so awkward to push someone off of you. And the fact that kept happening for like 2 hours was driving me nuts! Anywho... I would love to stitch the Halloween ornaments. Happy stitching!

So... my nightmare flight just happened in July. Was flying to Miami to visit my daughter. Boarded, and had to get back off cause the pilot did not feel the plane was safe as it was missing a screw... was flying out of Cleveland, the mechanic told me Cleveland is too small a hub and has no repair shop. Had to call Oklahoma to get the screw. While waiting, President Trump came to do a dinner near Cleveland. No plane could land. We finally got the screw and took off about 9:30 p.m. got to Miami at 1:30 when I was supposed to land at 4:45.. would love those cute Halloween ornaments!

I have a 4 year old and I’ve only braved a plane ride with her once and it went well luckily. BUT.... when she was only about 3 months old I went to pick up an item I purchased on Facebook marketplace from someone’s porch and decided it was a good idea to leave my 3 month old baby and 10 year old Yorkie in the car (running) because you can’t lock the keys in the car (in theory). Well, as I was getting back to the car, my dog put his paws up on the door and LOCKED THE DOOR!!! I had to knock on the ladies door (thank God she was home), ask her to call AAA for me (cuz my phone was also in the car), and had to wait for nearly 45 minutes in her driveway with a baby crying, dog barking and me freaking out. Lol! It’s funny to me now but at the time being a new mom it was super embarrassing and nerve wracking. I’m sorry to hear about your flight but it happens to us all. You seem to have been a good sport about it all. ;)

Worse flight-landing at JFK and not only did the plane land so hard it jumped back up in the air, when it came down again it skidded so hard to the left I thought we were going to flip lol it was very exciting. Or we were landing in Panama and all the sudden the pilot pulled hard on the control and it felt like we were going straight up like a rocket lol it’s a good thing I’m not a nervous flyer !

#mommyneedssomemetimeandrightnowmetimeisflosstube I have never flown with my kids. They are 9, 6, and 3 now. But by far the worst car rides are always when we drive back (6+ hours) from the beach. The kids never sleep and they’re always fighting and/or hungry. If we’ve had more memorable/horrible trips my Mommy brain has forgotten them.

My father-in-law booked a plane ticket even though we told him not to because we might be moving. Well, we did move to a town 5 1/2 hours away from where we had lived before. Of course, his plane ticket was into the old city. He was flying in the day after Thanksgiving. We had been back to spend Thanksgiving with the family that still lives there. My husband had to stay to drive my FIL to our new house so I drove home with the kids by myself. About two hours from home they started crying. I pulled over to see if they were hungry, needed to be changed, or whatever. Basically they were exhausted and wouldn't go to sleep in the car. I had to drive the remaining two hours with screaming 1 year old quadruplets. I finally decided that I didn't care how fast I was driving. If I got pulled over I would insist that the officer sit in the car with me to write out the ticket. Luckily we all made it home safe and without a ticket. :0)

Young mother with young children make me smile. I have been in your shoes, not on a plane though. I am going to share a funny kid story, They were 6, 4 and 2. The house we lived in the kitchen was huge and in back of house (1890 built). I was in front of house stripping my bedding. I heard them giggling, at first I smiled, nice to hear them getting along. Then it hit me, what are they in to? Found them around the kitchen trash can with a dozen and half eggs. Most of them broken in trash. I asked what in God’s name are you doing? They all replied “nothing”. Hahaha, I said why are you breaking all the eggs! The reply was priceless.... we were looking for baby chicks like on Sesame Street. How can you be angry? The innocence of children, priceless!

I had a similar flight experience when my oldest, who's now 21, was just under 2. Except it was vomit. He was in good spirits but couldn't hold anything down. I was catching it in my hands, I was COVERED in it. The day ended up with us in the ER, out of state. We made it thru tho, covered in vomit, but made it thru.

I love that chart! I can't wait to see your next charity pattern. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year and the colors you are using are gorgeous! I'm still working on Halloween Visitor and hoping for a finish soon. I have 3 grown kids, but the only time I've ever flown is when I was about 7 years old. I went with my mom and my sister to visit relatives in Belgium. My mom was from there. I remember my mom waking me up for breakfast on the plane, and to see the sunrise. I didn't want to get up. I don't know if it was the not eating, or because I (still) get motion sickness, but I used 2 of the barf bags. 🤢🤮I think it was probably a lot more embarrassing for my mom than me. 🙄😳😒

Ok, so, no kids involved, and it's more of an airport story than the plane itself, but when I was in college, I was in the university choir, and we got invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in NYC. Super exciting, and that was the first time I'd traveled without my parents (this was the summer after my freshman year). We were a huge choir, so we went in groups on separate flights of about 10 or so. The first leg to Cincinnati was fine, no big deal. Then, we get on the connecting flight for La Guardia, and we sit.. and we sit..... and we sit. And finally they tell us that we have to get off the plane. When we get back to the terminal, they tell us the flight was canceled and we have to reschedule. Well, the Cincinnati airport is no joke, and it's a mad dash to find a kiosk where we can reschedule our flights. Keep in mind, we're a group of mostly 19 year olds, being corralled around by a 25-ish year old "supervisor" that was probably having a heart attack right about then. Well, we get everything rescheduled, and the flight's in a few hours. So we explore the airport, because what else is there to do? The flight gets closer, and then it's delayed. And then it's delayed again. And again. And then it's canceled. By this time it's about 1am, and we're getting delirious, because most of us have been awake for nearly 24 hours. Turns out that a literal wire had been cut somewhere in La Guardia, and a ton of flight info was just gone. Our champion of a supervisor lit into the people at the scheduling desk or wherever and strong-armed them into putting us up in a hotel for a few hours so we could actually sleep, and managed to get us on an early flight out at 5am (meaning we would have like 2 hours of sleep since we had to be at the at the airport an hour early. We dragged our bedraggled selves back to the airport a few hours later, the flight took off fine, and landed fine, and we literally cheered when the wheels touched the tarmac. We must've looked pretty rough, because when we got to the hotel (Hilton Manhattan), the hotel clerks were legit ushering us to the back of the lobby so people in their fancy outfits wouldn't see (smell?) us. To top it all off, my suitcase didn't travel with us (that had my choir dress in it, of course). Thankfully it did make it before the concert, so that wasn't a huge deal. But one guy's suitcase went to Amsterdam (the one in Europe). So he had to borrow a suit for the night of. We missed our "explore NYC" day because of all that, but we did make it to NYC in time to get in a good chunk of sleep, couple hours of rehearsal and minor sight-seeing, and the concert was fabulous. So it all worked out. But our travel group was convinced that the Cincinnati airport was a black hole and that part of our souls never really left.

Kids always add an element of crazy to any traveling. My worst travel experience was when my oldest was just a month old... We had to take him up to the children's hospital for a first appointment after a metabolic diagnosis. So, it was a trip we couldn't miss or postpone, my husband was on a work trip and I was a nervous wreck. My in-laws drove, it was a huge winter storm and 3 hour drive one way. My son cried (screamed) the entire trip, spit up on me several times just on the drive. He was wearing an adorable Winnie the Pooh fleece bunting. We finally got to intake and the nurse needed to weigh and measure him. Well, he had a massive diaper explosion all over the inside of the suit. The nurse came back into our little waiting room and there was poopy clothing everywhere. We were trying to wash a newborn in the sink and wipe him up with paper towels. I was exhausted, mortified and in tears at that point. After that I traveled with an army of baby supplies, clothes, etc. I think every parent has at least one good travel story, right? ;)

The worse card ride ever - travelled an hour and half to a stitching shop with my best friend and we had our American friend with us. Also we brought my daughter with us who was 18 months old. Everything was going so well, she behaved in the shop, all was good, we went to visit a waterfall which was beautiful apparently, then after we were heading to the hotel we booked. On that journey my child started puking 🤮, so pulled over cleaned her up n off we went, ten minutes later she was projectile vomiting every where, even managed to spray it to the sides and all over me, the car stunk. The next day I panicked every time she made a sound, longest hour and a half of my life. Worst part was it was in my friends car and she’d only had it about two weeks. No more fresh car smell for her and no mote car journeys for the sicky child

We lived in London England and my daughter was a baby and in diapers. We we're on a bus like a Greyhound bus. And we we're all going to a theme park. My daughter had a blowout in her diaper. It was so bad that it went down into her footie PJ's. Thankfully we were sitting in the very back seat and I had to clean her up there was no bathroom on the bus. The whole bus stunk and I had to put everything in a Ziploc baggie, that I had in the diaper bag. I had to put everything even the diaper there was no where to throw it away. And we had a two-hour ride home. When my husband went back to work the next day it was all the talk. How our daughter stuck up the bus and had a big blowout.

Haha I am sorry you had such a bad flight! My mom always tells this story about how when I was 3 months old they had to fly across country to go see family for Christmas. I was a premature baby and back then preme diapers were super expensive, so my mom only had normal new born ones which she would try to pin shut. So she was sat in the middle of a 6 seat aisle on the plane when I decided to have diarrhea. It was also RIGHT after they had just server dinner to everyone on the plane, so peoples' tray tables were down and they had food. My diaper leaked.. and it was all over me and her shirt. She said she got up and she had a change of clothes for me, but she didn't have anything for herself. So she had to take off her shirt and wash it with some soap in the plane's bathroom sink and then ring it out and put it back on wet.. then just be damp the rest of the 3 hour flight. :P It's a good thing that a mother's love is a pretty unshakeable thing!

My worst car journey was when our car broke down in Norway. We were coming back to Finland. There we were in the middle of nowhere. No one stopped to ask if we needed help and there was no way we would fit in any car (we have 6 children). Finally a group of fishermen from Chile tried tow our car but it was too heavy for their small car. My husband hitchhiked to Finland and got a taxi to fetch us. Luckily we found a cabin where we could stay over night (three of us needed to sleep on the floor). And next day we had to ask all of our children to loan their savings so we could get enough money to get bus and train tickets to get back home (my husbands credit card got lost so we couldn't use more than what we had in cash with us).

It's not a transportation story, but this just happened last week. I have a 16 month old son who has been having the worst diaper rash (having diarrhea thanks to teething) and so we were having a morning of no pants/diaper to help air his bum out. Well, unbeknownst to me at first, he pooped on the floor in the corner (thank god on wood floors), and I didn't see it until my dog started to try and eat it! meanwhile the cat starts to vomit behind me and I had to dash around yelling at everyone to stay out of everything because the child found the vomit and the dogs were trying to eat both the vomit and the poop. I was a bit harried in the moment but I am sure it was hilarious if someone was watching it. You did good momma. Traveling with little ones is hard, let alone without another adult to act as a referee/goal keeper/keeper of other child. It is stories like yours that make me hope if I ever see a momma in a similar situation I could be able to help.

That gentleman’s arm was there while I gouged my nails into it. The pilot got on the loudspeaker and said they had to drop 200 feet to avoid hitting birds. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My youngest daughter had motion sickness so bad we took ginger ale with us everywhere and she still threw up before we ever drove a mile.
