Hi Laura! For some reason, KZbin wasn’t showing me your video in my feed, so I hadn’t seen this yet. 😔 I remembered seeing your post on IG that you’d posted one and I wondered why I’d missed it. Then yesterday I saw it in my recommended videos on the home page - still not in my subscription feed, but I still found you! Hopefully the next one doesn’t get lost. Hi Laura! So enjoyed your video as usual! I feel bad that I wasn't pausing and commenting all the way through (though perhaps you're grateful not to get my ridiculously long comments--lol), but I was so engrossed in my stitching and couldn't reach my computer easily (new stitchy spot) so I just enjoyed watching it straight through. I truly love everything u show!!!! Your stitching is beautiful!! I had those designs on the red fabric...dawn and dusk i think? On my "search for" list as i saw pics of them months ago on facebook- and when u showed them my eyes lit up!!! Where did u order those from? Like i need more but they r so gorgeous! You seem to do what i do at times- ill take out a project and then i just sort of stare at the pattern cuz im like where do i want to go? Do i even want to stitch this one or work on another? Or even START another 😂? Or maybe just do some pattern shopping instead 😬🤣 ive bought quite a bit more recently and i really have to focus on what i have going but its so hard not to buy them cuz i feel like ill miss out if i dont 😂... quite the conundrum!

Happy belated birthday to you, so glad it was good. I absolutely love your black work flowers piece. I believe I have that pattern but have not started it but it is so beautiful and you are so close to a finish. I loved seeing so much stitching, you are inspiring to me. The kitty at the porch door is looking so good. I love cats so I always enjoy seeing stitching with them in it. Your new patterns are so beautiful and I think my favorite of the cow piece is the round one. Like you said it only leaves out some sky and grass which is already in it so that cuts down on that part but still gives you the full picture, you are losing any cows, etc. I know you are going to have a great time on your retreat, I can hear your excitement in your voice when you talk about it so just focus on the fact that you know it is great fun and try not to stress about it. You will get to be with friends doing what you love. (I hope your bad dreams go away!). Happy stitching and thanks so much for sharing your beautiful work, your stitches are so nice.

Hi Laura, you totally enabled me too with the Blackwork flowers and birds. I'm very new to anything other than just XX and was wondering how you make the double symbols of this pattern. Are those blended threads? Or are those 2 partial stitches of each colour in that spot? To me, it's a big puzzle and makes me respect your beautiful stitching even more 🪡🇳🇱🌷

Oooh!!! So happy that you will be stitching it, too!!! You are right, those are two partial stitches in the two colours. There are an awful lot of those in this pattern. They have been driving me a. It crazy at times. lol. I have been doing them so that one of the colours will be from one corner to the middle and then go from corner to corner. And the other colour just has the opposite corner to the middle. So, looks like an x with one of the legs being a different colour. I hope it makes sense! I don’t have much left of the last block to stitch now. Eeeek!!!! Very keen to get it finished.

@istitchbirds it makes sense, I'm going to stitch it in 28 count linen, so hopefully, the double partials will be easier. Think I'll try doing those as > and < . So the X has 2 half legs of each colour. 🤞Think I'm ready to start now.... thanks Laura 🌷

@istitchbirds OK, I'll remember that. I'm a complete rooky, never made a partial stitch, so I'll practice on the ones that have their own squares. I was overwhelmed by a dimensions pattern and thought this one was a nice, easy pattern to learn some backstitching. Boy, was I wrong.....
