Enjoyed seeing all of your order from 123 stitch, I buy from them often, too. You have made great progress on your cross stitching. I love seeing the monthly Kitty series. They are turning out so beautiful! Have a great week and see you soon.

Always a delight to see you've uploaded another video Sarah. Dragon Ride is looking fabulous, but I don't envy you on the border. It will be worth it in the end. I really enjoyed your picture every completed 10x10 square on Hidden Harbour, that was a brilliant idea. Looking forward to seeing your progress xxx Love to Smokey xx

I love that Mira you showed - I know she’s out of print but she’s just gorgeous! Love seeing your progress on Spring Montage - once you start in on the background you’ll find it goes so much faster! Hope you had a great Mother’s Day and visit with your folks! Off to watch this week’s video! ( the joy of being behind on Flosstube is getting back to back Stitchin Mommy episodes!) ❤❤

I am using the called for DMC for the Flower Teapot pattern, except for one DMC that I switched to be more gold than orange. Since I stitch from a master set of DMC, there really isn't anything to show during my videos. When I'm finished with a color, it goes back into my double-sided bobbin box. :)

Thanks for showing the montage of progression in Hidden Harbor! That is a great idea! I’ve been in the doldrums recently stitchwise. Lots of stress from business issues, and even though I’m stitching it’s only relieving the stress not giving me any joy. I’m sure it’s temporary but not fun!

I'm sorry you're in the middle of a stressful season. :( I hope things can resolve soon so you can have some relief. If our call is too much for you right now, we can postpone till next month, but if it will help, I'm looking forward to chatting with you! :D

I can't believe that I have stitched the April turtle in the wrong place. It will stay where it is, too many stitches to remove and put back in. Thanks for explaining the 10 x 10 method again. I was trying it on Purple Reign, but I think I'm doing it differently. At least I'm getting stitches in. Have a great week.
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
Hi Kanday! I did notice that on your channel when you first showed April, but it will still work okay. That second row has a 30-day turtle in both end spots, so June and April can swap without messing up the amount of patches. And you can maybe just stitch yours in a "serpentine" fashion, since the final row also has a 31-day turtle on both end spots and could be swapped. Just be sure to stitch the 3rd row from left to right, and you should be fine!

I did not know there was a Twisted Christmas Sampler. Your fabric choice looks absolutely perfect!!!! I even backed it up so I could get a closer look at the pattern. I had NO CLUE!!!! You may have showed it before, but I have 219 videos in my watch later at the moment so forgive me if I missed it.

She posted its release to Instagram at the end of last year along with a shop-wide sale for her birthday or something and I immediately went over a bought it!! I showed it then and probably also at the beginning of the year when I showed all my planned new starts, but it’s been awhile since I’ve showed it. I totally understand about being behind on videos! I’ve decided to unsubscribe to all but my favorites simply because I just don’t have time to keep up. I’m perpetually behind and I don’t like that feeling. Maybe there’ll be a season in the future when I’ll have more time to watch videos, but now is not that time! 😆

@@StitchinMommy That's really smart. I need to give myself permission to do the same. Also, I ordered that hole punch a few minutes ago. Thank you for that!
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
@@stitchingatthecabin I felt bad unsubscribing to some people, but if I’m not excited to watch them, for whatever reason, it’s probably not helpful to keep them in my feed. I’d rather have a few videos waiting for me that I’m excited about than lots of videos that are just okay.

Thank you for the update. I always look forward to seeing your progress. What board games do you play with your family?
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
We generally enjoy strategy games, and my mom NEEDS to play at least one game of Catan - usually the Fog Islands version of Sea Farers - every time they visit. :D Some of the games we've played recently are Plunder, Sythe, Seven Wonders, Citadels, Agricola, Ticket to Ride, Bang and Nexus (although just the boys enjoy that one).

So close yet still so far on Dragon Ride. I love seeing the progress on it especially. How is Shine Bright going?
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
I've been struggling to figure out a time to work on Shine Bright, but I actually just pulled it out again yesterday for a few stitches. I had been working on it during calls with my friend, but now that she wanted to start those teapots together, that time slot isn't available anymore. I think I will try chipping away at it when I have a little time before lunch if I get all my jobs and chores finished early. :)

I really enjoyed the montage of progress on your Hidden Harbor project! I'm on the verge of starting my first full coverage and am uncertain about which fabric to use - I notice you don't use gridded fabric. What is your favorite fabric for full coverage?
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
I don't tend to have problems counting, so I prefer to use ungridded fabric for everything. But if you know yourself and think you might need the assistance of a grid, I know a lot of full coverage stitchers enjoy using gridded fabric. If you don't want to go too small, I enjoy the coverage of a 2 strand full cross on 18 count. If you're okay with smaller fabric, you could try a 1 strand full cross on 25 count - that seems to be an overwhelming favorite for full coverage and is quite nice to work with. If your pattern has a lot of dark colors and not an excessive amount of confetti, you could try a 1 strand full cross on 28 count, since you will have less fabric show through. In any case, I often prefer a fabric that has a bit of color, since that can show through less than stark white. So, if you decide to not use gridded fabric, consider trying a tan, grey, light blue or light green, etc. that compliments the colors in your pattern without matching the stitches too much. I hope that helps!

Do you use counting pins? If not how many times do you count to move your colors. I have been amazed when you do extreme cross country. I would be so afraid of getting off.
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
I usually don't use counting pins, although when I'm counting very far, I will sometimes pull them out. Usually though, I just quadruple check my count when I'm counting around to new areas. I will count out once and stitch the first leg of the stitch, then double check the count vertically and horizontally before completing the stitch. And as I continue to stitch, I will regularly double check my counts with the things around me so that I can catch inconsistencies as early as possible. :)

I use either and 8 or 10 tapestry beading needle. Either works well, but I would like to try the ball point needle. Please let us know how yours work!
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
I was actually disappointed when I opened these - they are pretty sharp still! :( Where do you find your tapestry beading needles?
@phyllisdaum12136 ай бұрын
I buy them at my LNS, Threadneedle Street, but they also are listed at ‘Needle in a Haystack’ on line. They are John James short tapestry point beading needles. They are not as sharp as the others. There are also ball point beading needles (also John James) but I have not tried them.
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
@@phyllisdaum1213 Thanks for the details! I’ll definitely be looking into these. 👍🏻
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
Apparently, this might be a common problem with the John James needles - I just saw a review on 123 stitch from 2 years ago for the needles I ordered that discovered the same thing - the listing shows blunt tipped needles and the packaging claims they are ball point (other sites listed the same ball point packaging as tapestry point, so it's possible it's all the same thing), and yet the needles they received were sharp like mine are. Maybe there was a mix up in the John James factory at some point, and they put sharps in the blunts packages? Kind of disappointing, as I don't have an LNS to be able to see them in person before buying. I'll keep my eyes open if I'm ever in an LNS on my travels at some point. :)
@phyllisdaum12136 ай бұрын
I think my LNS has both. I will check and can send you some if they do. Sounds ok to you?

Is congress cloth more of an Aida or an evenweave? It is always fun to see what you are kitting up.
@StitchinMommy6 ай бұрын
Congress cloth is definitely in the "canvas" category, and is not really a fabric at all. It's very stiff. Technically I suppose it would fall more closely to an evenweave, since there's only one strand of fiber running each way, instead of that thicker weave of Aida. But it's quite similar to 18 count mono canvas, which is a common needlepoint medium, only congress cloth comes in 24 count. I have a few full coverage designs on it as well, since I can more safely use a half cross and it won't warp like fabric will.
