I’m working on Aimee Stewart’s Stitch in Time and am about to finish fall, the third shelf. Hoping to actually finish the last shelf (winter) while my eyes will let me 😊 When I need a break from all the color changing and confetti I’m stitching a monochromatic Long Dog piece . The Cross Stitch Fun piece is so pretty.

Hi Sarah, the best WIP parade. 👏👏👏 I love your fancy ladies. I'm going to start my first Mirabilia before the end of the year. Because I'm limited on my fabric size because of my eyesight, is there a chart to say what size bead for different size fabrics. It's the only thing holding me up. I can't wait until you get more of Villa Mirabilia done. She is gorgeous. Happy Stitching. ❤❤❤
@StitchinMommy3 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if there's a chart somewhere, but I would say you should stick with 28ct over 2 (or 14ct Aida) or 32ct over 2 (or 16ct Aida) to use the beads that Mirabilias call for. I have seen some people stitch Miras on 40ct over 2 (or 20ct Aida), and they convert all the beads to petite beads. But if you're concerned about your eyesight, I wouldn't worry about bead size, since they work best on the bigger counts. Mirabilia patterns usually only use a few fractional stitches along the edge of the skin, so they are definitely compatible with Aida, if that's your fabric of choice.

Wow. That's an impressive body of work! Thank you for sharing all your lovely projects. Question on logistics - do you work from a master set of floss or do you kit up each project? I love WiP parades and discussion of organization. Thanks for showing the pieces rolled up in their tubes - a great idea for bigger chunks of fabric.

I work from a master set of DMC that I store in a double sided thread organizer. If a project uses fancy floss, I will put those inside the clear bag the pattern comes in (or get a clear bag to put both the pattern and floss in), so those are stored together.

@@strawberry-moon432 Very true! I have a couple project bags that I use for travel stitching, but my main travel project I have in a clear zip top bag so that I can read my pattern without taking it out of the bag - makes stitching on the go easier. I think how I learned to stitch is very barebones, which makes it frugal as well as simple and easy to just pick something up and start stitching. No hoops, frames, stands, bags, etc. It’s refreshing!

Hi - I double checked because not a lot of folks know about the Butternut Road of Marilyn Leavitt-Imblums 3 lines (including Lavender and Lace and Told in a Garden). Once Upon a Time is a Butternut Road pattern. All of these patterns are perpetually in print, per Marilyn Leavitt-Imblums wishes. 1-2-3 has most of the patterns for each of the three lines.

@StitchinMommy3 ай бұрын
I still have a couple diamond paintings, but as they are a different craft, they don't make it into my WIP parade. I also haven't worked on them for a while. It's hard to find time to pull out all the stuff and spend a good chunk of time, then put it all away. I don't have a good setup to leave out my supplies for that, so that definitely makes it easier to just stitch!

I have a blueprint organizer where I store the rolls of fabric. If the roll is clear, I can just see and remember which project it is (since everything is on different types & colors of fabric). If the roll is cardboard and the fabric doesn't stick out the top, I'll write the name of the pattern on the outside of the tube.

It looks like my comment disappeared. Maybe because I included a link to an Etsy store? I'll leave that off in case that was the reason. At any rate, I said that I very much enjoyed watching your WIP parade, and love seeing all the variety in your projects. The link was in relation to your WIP for Chaplain's Cottage. You mentioned you might want to get a digital version if available and I noticed that the front of your kit said it was designed by Pegasus Originals, so I did a search. They have a website, and they sell digital versions on their Etsy store, including Chaplain's Garden. I was so sorry to hear about your Dad passing, but such a blessing that you got to be there to say goodbye.

Finishes First yellow mira L&L alphabet finish Halloween fairy JE maypole girls Cupcake full coverage Butterfly black work Cats in hearts Stretch finish Mira on navy blue fabric Simpsons Needlepoint canvas Blue purple swirls You can stitch so fast sometimes, I've got faith you could make good progress or get finishes on these. I'm picking charts that look at least 50%ish done (or Joan Elliott pieces typically go pretty quickly for me so I'm rooting for maypole girls). I'm also rooting for a mira finish since theres no fairies currently in the queue for your nieces, so you could get a fancy lady finish for the year. You're supposed to finish birthday and new years starts during the current year? 🤣 My 2020 birthday start is lingering (getting close to 50%), and I've got 2 new years starts lingering. I like monochromatic stitching for days when you can't focus. So it's less for your brain to have to think about. Just get some floss and meander around. May 2025 be full of more finishes than starts so you can wip down and have more time to spend on each piece. (Meanwhile im debating another start-athon of smalls and trying to convince myself to finish a few things...)
@StitchinMommy3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the suggestions! I think the May Day Merriment piece could be a possible one for next year's list - that one is pretty small. I have definitely not followed the "rule" to finish birthday or new year's starts within that year! :D I've got lots of those still lingering in the mix. Most of what I start are large projects so I dig myself into a hole of WIPs pretty quickly, but yes, I hope to start less than I finish next year - that's the only way to work my way out of the hole! :D
