Stargazer is absolutely gorgeous. I just completed my stargazer in April and it was a challenge. Intense beading .i used the called for dmc but the fabric was 32 count pink sand. Your fabric choice worked very well and the sky beading makes it light up. Love all your choice. I agree this project was super tedious but well worth it. I enjoy your lovely personality and look forward to your videos . Also we are neighbor states I’m in Las Vegas and we’re baking over here. Good luck are the MRI

Just found your channel, enjoying very much. re the AC, try closing or partially closing the vents nearest the AC unit, i.e. first stops on the air duct system. Verify the upstairs vent(s) are open all the way. Cold sinks of course, so if you have a very open stairwell, it will creep down over time. Close all western blinds in the afternoon.

Congrats on the finishes. Your Star Gazer Mira is gorgeous! Not as far as you on the Pollinator SAL but I am really enjoying stitching it. I had to laugh when you said you're getting a haircut because thought your hair was so adorable in this video but I totally understand lol! We have issues with getting our townhouse cool upstairs as well. We found that closing most of the vents on the first floor helped get cooler air upstairs and as you know cold air drops so it will return to lower level while helping to keep it cooler upstairs. Hope your knee doesn't need surgery...will say some prayers for you. Thank you for another fun video!

Stargazer is stunning!!! I hope your knee gets better on it’s own and that you don’t need surgery. Regarding the AC, we had the same problem in our previous house (in Seattle). We were told that it was due to the ac unit not being powerful enough to cool both upstairs and downstairs. Don’t know if this is true or not, but that’s what we were told. I hope you find a fix for it because it’s the pits sleeping warm/hot.

We have the same issue with our house. Our furnace is in the attic and I think that had something to do with it. I think we may need better insulation in the attic.

Congrats on finishing Stargazer! 😍💫 Regarding A/C in your upstairs: it’s always hard to heat the upstairs with one air conditioning unit. When you live in a dry climate (which I think most of Utah falls into that category), you can open the windows at night to let in all the cool air, then close them in the morning to trap in the cool air and prevent the warmer air from coming in. Also, our AC guy gave us a tip when we moved into our current house, that on hot days, set the AC to have the fan running all the time, even when the condenser cycles off. Because our intake vent is downstairs next to our tile floor, the fan will circulate that cooler air by the tiles up around the house, to continue helping cool the upstairs even when the condenser shuts off cuz your downstairs temperature is cool enough to please the thermostat. I hope that helps! I’m a native Oregonian who now lives in Southern California, so I understand how that transition in climate goes!
@dk57556 ай бұрын
Love your Mira! All of your stitching is beautiful. 😍 To answer your question about your A/C: cold air falls and hot air rises, so it’s best to close some vents on the lower level to help force the cold air to the upper level. I also find it helps to keep the fan in the “on” position and not “auto” so the air is always being circulated instead of just when the A/C is running.

Your "Stargazer" is exquisite!! Absolutely gorgeous. As to the AC issue have You had Your vents checked out to make sure that they are not blocked and that they are all connected? Sometimes the vent runs become loose, get blocked by debris or simply become "unbalanced ". If I was You I would have an AC specialist check Your system asap. It may be something as simple as it is underpowered. Good luck! I also loved the spring finish of "Strawberry Farm " . It is so bright,cheerful and charming!! I hope that You don't have to have surgery... I will be praying for You. Take Care, Be Safe and GOD BLESS. Linda

@katherinebraithwaite37946 ай бұрын
Check your filters, make sure that they are clean. If they're really dirty, they can block the force of the air. Also, see about getting your ducts cleaned. If they haven't been done in quite a while, they can get a total blockage - especially if there has been a dog or longer-haired cat living there at any time. If this is a rental unit, chances are extremely high that neither of these things has been done recently, if ever.

Stunning Work! So very good to see another FlossTube from you. As far as cooling your upstairs, you need to call an A/C technician to check the air circulation in your townhouse to make sure the pathways upstairs are fully open. Also, they need to check the attic and see if you have a whirlybird or that the attic heat relief system is working. Otherwise, heat builds up in the attic/roof and goes straight to the cooler air (aka your second floor) and it becomes impossible to cool down the second floor. I hope this helps! I live in Texas so we deal with these things a LOT. Also, Get Well Soon Knee!!
@juliew37406 ай бұрын
Your Stargazer piece is simply beautiful. On your Air Conditioner question, remember that heat rises. It may be that your air conditioning system needs a service. You could ask your air conditioner technician if he or she has any suggestions on how to balance out the output so that the downstairs doesn’t freeze you and the upstairs doesn’t feel sweltering. Hope you find a suitable solution. Air conditioning is so nice in the hotter months, but only if it works 😀

I used to live in a house with the same problem, and we ended up having to put in a separate thermostat upstairs so it wouldn't let the upstairs get above a specific temperature. Something to do with airflow or something, but that definitely helped a lot.

For your AC up stairs, ceiling fans and doors open, windows closed & locked, and blinds down and closes really helps. You may need so get a bump fan in your duck yours for help move the air from furnace/ac to up stairs.

I'm in England, so no air conditioning, but our house (which is a semi detached) is the same. Quite cold downstairs and utterly baking upstairs - the front bedroom is particularly bad. We are on a south-facing street with houses opposite and I think they just cut most of the direct sun out. I used to use an electric fan but quite honestly I couldn't stand the racket it made! PS my two lovely stitching sisters live in Vegas, so I've been shown lots of photos of Stitchers' Paradise. I can only weep with pure envy. Enjoy your trip!

Regarding your AC. We lived in a townhome and had the same issue. If you have a basement, plug all your vents in the basment with rags and it will prevent the cool air from going out into the basement through those. You can also get a booster put on your hvac systm. Usually, townhomes have crummy hvac systems and don't effectively cool the top level of your home. As a last resort, we put a ceiling fan in our stairwell and it pushed the hot air down to the lower level. Hope you find a solution. I hated living in a townhome for that very reason.
@StitchyTamara6 ай бұрын
My upstairs is always hot too. Part of it is insulation and which side of your house faces the sun. Make sure that your ceiling fans are spinning the right direction because there are two ways it can turn: one for winter and one for summer. I love your Mira and I’m so excited for you to FFO her! Your Under The Sea has inspired me; I HAVE to stitch it now!
@connieenevold17456 ай бұрын
I agree, your upstairs may suffer from not enough insulation which you may be able to compensate for with ceiling fans and/or running your HVAC fan all the time, not just when the AC is running. That’s what we had to do with cathedral ceilings. Your stitching looks great, as usual!

Love it! But sort of ‘rude’ in taking about calmer linen colors ‘boring’. Ha ha I love those boring colors. Some of those linen colors do not fight with the pattern. Some modeled fabric is too much for some pieces. Just my thoughts . You will need to check one of the cutest quilt shop in American Fork called the Sewing Basket. The owner is a dear dear friend!

Haha, You are completely correct of course! Some patterns really need the calm background to pop! I definitely use them. Such as stargazer, calm, and lets the focus be on the stitching. Hi, Laura You can run the fan on your HVAC unit all the time to keep the air circulating thru the townhouse levels. Also, there should be dampers (swivel shutter-like things) on your unit that you can change. Close the downstairs damper more in the summer, keep upstairs damper wide open. Reverse for winter. We have the center level damper kinda in stasis all year. Hope this helps.

Stargazer is beautiful!!! So AC hint, if you haven’t done… hot air rises. In the summer, close all the downstairs vents & make sure upstairs are open. So the cold air will go upstairs. In the winter, opposite. All downstairs open & upstairs closed. This really helps.

I have to do this in my house...in summer, I shut a few vents downstairs and make sure upstairs vents are open all the way. I do the opposite in winter. Heat rises, that is why your upstairs is hotter. Shutting vents will force the air in other places. I sure hope my tip helps!. ❤ from Iowa.
