Hello Bonnie and Madison! I just wanted to thank you for creating such fun videos. I found your channel about a week ago, as I am getting back into cross stitching after many years. I quickly binged all your videos, so I was so glad to see a new one today. I can’t wait to see what you decide to do for the twelve by twelve.❤

How fun you discovered them too! It was a very happy day for me too❤ I was just thinking it has been just over a year I found them, it was Bonnie alone then, and that I should rewatch them all again. Such pleasant, easy, joyful viewing and inspiring too! It would save me money also if I did rewatch…lol, as it will remind me what I’ve already bought because of being inspired, and get those projects started!. 😂.

You said to ask questions for New Year’s Eve, such perfect timing! My question is for Bonnie, regarding the Shine On cross stitch “quilt.” Would you mind sharing the details on your color changes for red and yellow? I am getting ready to start that one and also don’t like the orangey red very well. Plus the called-for yelllow practically fades into the fabric, so I’m exploring alternatives. Thank you, and I so enjoy your videos. My daughter is also in graduate school, and we are very close, so it’s especially meaningful to see another mother/daughter duo.

I love all the pillow finishes. I tend to do a lot of pillows because they are easier for me to decide how to finish them. I have that Gingerbread Village kitted but still haven’t started it, I love how yours is looking. Looking forward to hearing what you decide about 12 by 12. Right now I can’t envision starting 12 new projects with the number of WIPs that I have right now. Maybe I should start there. 😊

To calculate finished size, divide the stitch count by your fabric size. In aida 14ct gives 14 stitches per inch. 16 gives 16 and so on. So a stitch ciunt of 140 x 140 would end up as a 10x10 finish on a 14ct.

Love all your fun finishes with the pillows Madison I’ve been doing a lot of those lately and I love putting them in a fun weaved basket or a fun bowl to show them off. I did the Nordic prairie schooler Christmas ones last year and have them in a basket and I just love them! Also, Bonnie, when you do the buttermilk basin projects, what type of fusible web do you use? I have been wanting to start some and didn’t know which would be a good one to use. Love your floss tube. Keep up the great work. Hope you and your family have a merry Christmas. Looking forward to your 12 by 12. You guys both inspire me! 🙂⛄❄

Another fun video, I am wondering when you stitch on 14 or 16; do you do two threads over two squares? I have been attempting a pattern on 18 count and I think I need to do one thread over one square. Both your stitching is so beautiful….Thank you ladies, have an amazing week…..Merry Christmas from Saskatchewan……
@carolyndelong7558

On 14 & 16 aida stitch hole to hole. On 18 you stitch hole to hole with 18 stitches per inch. But you can stitch over 2 and you end up with 9 stitches per inch and double the finished size.
@UnfinishedStitches
@UnfinishedStitches Жыл бұрын
We don't do 2 threads over 2 squares, on any of our aida 14, 16 or 18 count. But you always could if you wanted to double your finished piece. Depends on the look you want. One thread on 18 count is lovely, it really depends on the look you want. If you like a more sparse coverage then just do 1 thread. No rules, do what you like to do or what looks good to you :)

Love your videos! I would love to see how you put together a new project. How do you decide where to start on the fabric? I’m doing my first cross stitch in years; I did the gridding thing with normal thread to help match up pattern to fabric..I’m finding it has its own set of problems… Do you have any tricks for ripping out errors? I don’t understand why you had to use 3 strands when stitching on 14 count fabric. Did the pattern call for this. My Kathy Barrick patterns are usually stitched on higher count fabric using 1 strand of NPI silk. I can understand why 3 strands would be frustrating
