I have stitched the Exotic Garden Rug. Don't remember what count I used, but it was black fabric. It ended up 2 feet by 3 feet. One of my favorite pieces. I have also stitched the Christmas stocking.

That's so awesome! I'm glad you mentioned how big it is - made me go look at the pattern and realized I'll be stitching it on 28 count. My guess is 504x336 on 14 count fabric based on their finished dimensions! It also makes me think I'll stitch it on white instead 😅

I love the concept of loose goals. I had already told myself 2025 was going to be a no goal year. Now I’ll modify my stance a bit. As for your autumn stitch? I’ve stitched the spring Rosewood Manor Quaker and did not like stitching with the Valdani thread, so substituted 12 wt Sulky Blendables. You might look at those threads. Happy stitching to you.

What about the Valdani did you not like? What fabric did you use the Sulky on? And did you stitch 1 over 1 or some other way? The different weight of Sulky is intimidating to me, but might be something I look into!

@@Ailarra918 The called for Valdani was too thick for my liking. You don't separate the threads and Rosewood Manor designs have lots of detail. Sometimes you have to stitch one stitch of a color multiple times, and you couldn't carry it without it showing. I used Cashel linen - the called for on the pattern. I think I stitched over 2 threads. Put it this way, I sold all the Valdani I had for less money than I paid, and I threw in all the left overs from the design I stitched. Keep in mind, this is just my opinion. You won't know until you try some. I just wish I had kept some so I could have mailed it to you to try.

Oh my gosh I have seen some of the Rainbow Brite ones stitched up but had no idea there was a whole book. I need the two starlight patterns. Hoping I can find for decent on eBay too, now that I know what the book is called. Thank you.

So I did a deep dive into the stitcher's world pattern. Looks like Herrschner's has a downloadable pattern for 9.99 if it's cheaper or faster than tracking down those 2 extra magazines.

What is “FFO’ing”?

Hi Mary! An FO refers to a Finished Object - a fully stitched piece. An FFO refers to a Fully Finished Object - so a framed picture or pillow or whatnot. FFO-ing - is the process of fully finishing a piece. Hope that helps! 💙
