I enjoyed this segment tonight and your organization of how and when you stitch. I am beginning to cross stitch again myself. After 38 years. I have 3 samplers finished from back then….. but I desire a room full! I will watch again.

Wow Tammie, I had finished a sailboat quilt for our third son and his wife. I had purchased a small floss tube schooner back when I had planned his quilt. Oh yeah, the kit is still in a drawer. I’m also organized and appreciate gleaning some tips from watching your videos. Lol, will now schedule Adam’s schooner in my monthly planner. 🎉🎉🎉🎉. I used to needlepoint and cross stitch many moons ago so sure some refresher will help my process. Thanks and working on Pressed Flowers block 2 as I was watching. Love, love love your shows.

Love it!! My kids used to listen to a Patch the Pirate “cassette tape” 🫣 with a song that went “Little by little, Inch by inch. By the yard it’s hard, By the inch what a cinch!” I guess we could change the words to “by the STITCH what a cinch”. 😂

I stumbled across this Flosstube...like others have said, I found your Flosstube very peaceful and soothing. Your work is beautiful! I am rediscovering cross stitching after taking a break for several years. Learning to stitch in hand and use the sewing method on beautiful fabrics instead of my past white 14 count aida.

I totally enjoyed your visit today. Thanks for sharing your beautiful projects and rotation plans. I particularly like the "morning stitch". I may pull out one of my projects that I like but have been ignoring for too long. One strand a day doesn't sound bad at all.

Beautiful stitches!!! Pink animal on 2nd WIP, looks like a FOX, to me... I really appreciate the great detail with your closeups on camera!!! I am new to linens & evenweaves. With my old eyes, and even with a magnifying glass 2.0 & magnified 4.0 glasses (over my regular blended Bifocals) I have a slow & steady time blocked out as I stitch on all thread counts > 25 ct. I am determined to complete the samplers I have chosen, at my tortoise rate! 🐢 Love the kilt pin for holding your carded floss! I still have mine from the 1960's. I'd leave to 2 strands over 2 threads for the vine & consider alternating 1 strand over 2 threads for the inside grass rows & the outline of the grass as is. Maybe even 2 strands over 2 threads around the house, & fill in 1 strand over 2 threads, completing each x for the Varigated look! When I've used 2 over two on the higher ct ground fabrics, I feel like I am stitching a rug...too thick & stiff, for my liking!

Good morning Tammy! Love your choices of cross stitch projects. The quaker n quilts in black is classic. I agree with you on the keeper of the pins. Leave the vines as two threads. The rest of the pattern one thread. I stitch on 18 ct Aida used to use 2 threads until a floss tuber explained why she used only one thread for a more primitive look. Also saves on floss. I tried it n love it! Now I only use two threads if im stitching with any shade of white. Always look forward to your videos. Thank you for proclaiming your faith .❤️

Teresa, I like the idea of 2 threads for white because a lot of times it gets lost in the linen. Thanks!

Good video! I enjoy hearing about your pieces. I have stitched since 1975. I have done 100's of pieces. I like 32ct because I want to see the stitching. 2 strands over 2 always gives a solid look. Nothing wrong with it. I like it and do alot of it. One strand is just a more primitive look. Whatever you are comfortable with. No cross stitch police😊!

Such great progress on your wips! I too am working on this is the day - or should I say I’m going to restart it.😛 I had a lot done- but I didn’t like that my goats you couldn’t see - I frogged them but then decided since I hadn’t started the house that I was going to change fabric. It was in time out. I’ve since seen a few finishes where stitchers have left off the goats - I still have not decided what I’m going to do. Thank you for sharing andHappy Stitching!

Tammy you always stitch on beautiful charts. I think if you leave in two threads on tree it will add Dimension to your piece single on house and lawn. It will be beautiful. She probably designed a little heavier because of finishing in a pillow. But I’d like to see it with both.

I absolutely Love your Flosstube and Quilting Videos. The cross stitch patterns & designers you do are the same kind I enjoy doing, love the colonial/prim look and old barns and farmhouses. I have been wondering if you could share or show in one of your flosstube videos how you cross stitch - in hand, hoop etc and what tools you use. I have recently revived or reintroduced myself back into cross stitching and have dived into stitching on linen and so I'm always curious how others stitch on linen. I know there's no cross stitch police. 🙂

I have a question Iam working on Elizabeth rules 1799 scarlet letter they say to do it on 35 count linen Iam using dmc thread do I use one or two threads to sew with and on the long arm cross stitch do I use one or two threads? And on the counted satin sawtooth stitch do o use one or two threads and then it s one straight stitch between each thread of linen to cover the entire space outlined in the graph stitches should run in the shortest possible direction I don’t really understand can you help me?
@tammieearnest
@tammieearnest Жыл бұрын
If you like the more prim look, I would use 1 thread over 2. If you like more coverage, use 2 threads over 2. For me, I’ve learned that I like the prim look so I would do 1 over 2. In regard to the specialty stitches, I do not know. This is something that I need to learn myself. I will purchase a pattern with specialty stitches and try to figure them out.
