To choices are situations are basically the same. It comes from fairground/carnival times, when the owner/operator of rides doesn't do so well on the swings, he is probably doing better on the roundabout (which is a merry-go-round). Bit od trivia. I am always fascinated about where all our old sayings came from and what they mean 😀 loved your video x

Lovely to see your process on the jars, I'm behind myself and need to get two jars done by the 3rd to catch up 😂 lovely progress on your penguin HEAD, I love that design

Thank you! The jars are so cute! I really do love stitching them! And yes, can’t wait for the penguin piece to come out more as I stitch! Just trying to refrain from doing the penguins otherwise I won’t stitch the background 😂 x

Sorry for your loss, dear heart xx On Virus Detected, since you have so much of page 2 done, I would long hold on PK, and mark page 2 as done and then unmark the ones you haven't stitched. Use the transparent setting and search by symbol. I think it would be fairly easy to see the patterns of the symbols you haven't stitched yet. Hope that makes sense! I plan to do this for my World Travel Bookshelf because I am switching from the Regular to the Color Expansion version!

So sorry to hear of your loss❤. Your stitching is lovely, I must try royal rows, as you say abt losing groove with certain pieces even tho you love them.

I think on Mini Virus Detected, I would convert it to royal rows starting on the first tower to left with open stitches. When you get to a tower with existing stitches, they will just be bonus stitches. You can put the progress in to them when you get there.
@stitchingbrit81862 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jenn, I am considering converting this piece to the Royal Rows method, will be spending time going through the stitched piece and pattern keeper this week so I'll let you know how I get on. x

so sorry to hear about your miscarriage x Your mini virus detected is looking fabulous and I can imagine the nightmare of having to put all your progress back into PK. I don't think the royal rows would be for me either but you are clearly enjoying it. The two pieces you are doing that way have progressed really well. Stay safe and happy stitching 🤗❤️

Thank you for your kind words Tracy! Yes, it has definitely been a pain inputting it all back into pattern keeper! Loving the progress on it though! I think it’s good to have different stitching methods and ones that suit you, keeps it interesting that way! X

I see you're using some form of gridded fabric on the virus piece. Try adjusting where your fabric is in the qsnap, take a piece of floss and "write" in which block is which. Then look at the chart (screenshot it if necessary) and on the screenshot, write which row & column is which. So if page 1 ends at 70, start at 80 to give you an idea of which column is which. Mark off what you can, and fill in the confetti until you finish re-marking the chart.

Thank you so much for your suggestion, I will be spending time on the piece this week and working through my stitching in the hope I can finally get it all marked off. Great idea to go block by block as well x

I have an idea for mini virus detected that might help you. It would help if you have two tablets with pattern keeper on. Load another copy of the pattern into pattern keeper then in your settings for this new copy click on the option to use transparent colours. Once you’ve done that mark all the stitches of page 2 as complete. This will give you a colour picture of the page but with the added magic of seeing the symbols. Having two tablets is a bonus here because you can have the pattern up on both and work with them side by side. It should help with working out what the gap symbols are so you can get them stitched. You could also highlight the gap colour in the completed page and frog those stitches so that you can make sure they’re matching the gaps on your stitching

Ooohhh great idea! I’ll give it a try and let you know! Thank you! X

Would you maybe be able to grid over the second page, using like sulky sliver metallic thread? Then you would be able to look at each 10x10 block and compare it to the same block on the chart on PK and it will be easier to see what is already done in each block?
@stitchingbrit81862 жыл бұрын
Great idea! Certainly something I can try! Thank you! X

I think you did great cropping your penguins. The way you worded it at the end saying it took a long time to mark off every color made me want to make sure you knew about their shortcuts. If you don’t have any symbols selected, press and hold on a spot of the chart. You can choose to select the page or square - and it’ll select the entire page if desired. That way, you can mark the whole chart as complete in just the time it would take to press and hold on each page. No need to go color by color.

Ahh thank you Sarah! I did wonder if there was an easier way! Thank goodness for this community helping each other with things like this! I can't wait to see my penguin piece come to life some more, always a pleasure to stitch on that piece.

Beautiful stitching, I stuggle to do one piece at a time. May I ask why Pattern Keeper went blank and what did you do about it? Did you have to reload Pattern Keeper or buy it again please. My tablet is old and keeps shutting down and I have to restart it in different apps, is that anything to do with PK going blank? Thank you.
@stitchingbrit8186 Жыл бұрын
Thank you Elizabeth. I’m not sure why it went blank, it only went blank for that chart so I uninstalled and reinstalled it again and it’s worked since. I did have to input all of my progress again though.

I really want to try royal rows but I am so worried about lines!!
@stitchingbrit81862 жыл бұрын
*touch wood* I haven’t had any lines in all of the pieces I’ve tried it on. I think because you park below and finish to the right this means threads at the back are going both ways so I believe this is what prevents lines.
@beckyhowe75242 жыл бұрын
@@stitchingbrit8186 i have seen a couple of people still get lines and it is a worry of mine, when I started my first HAED I started getting lines and now I have found a way to prevent them ot worries me but the royal rows looks so fast

LOL Sounds like Patternkeeper developed a Virus while you were working on Virus Detected. Wonder if the problem would be resolved if you started working on the Vaccinated pattern.🤣

I'm sorry, but restarting a project because the software failed sounds horrendous! Pattern Keeper is terrible software. And I know there aren't any alternatives. I just don't understand why people use it.
@stitchingbrit81862 жыл бұрын
I definitely don’t think it’s a terrible software because I wouldn’t be able to enjoy so many of my projects without it, especially when you search for a symbol and it brings all of the stitches with that symbol. A paper chart can’t do that. I think everyone has their own ways with their stitching and that’s fine, as long as we enjoy what we do. X
