Tash if you aren't familiar with her Arlene Cohen is a flosstuber and designer (works by ABC) she is on etsy as well in online shops. In addition to cross stitch and canvas work she also does bobbin lace and a couple of her videos she has done a short bit of bobbin lace and talks a bit about it. I think you might enjoy it since you are starting to learn the lace. Good video, enjoy market!!

Thanks for the video game rec I've told Jonathan to check it out. Changing jobs/careers is huge it's not surprising that you just wanted to chill out in your down-time. Stitching on a budget is definitely do-able this is why we have stash - for the lean times :D Hope you have fun at the retreat!! I went to Terrigal in 2017 with no idea that that's where Linen and Lace are located!
@TashtheStarCrossedStitcher6 жыл бұрын
I am very thankful I've worked so hard on my stash for the last few years :P I have plenty of projects to keep me busy. Terrigal was so beautiful, I had a lovely time, and although I'm not usually a fan of the beach it was just lovely :)

Love your FFOs! I did not notice they were crooked, I was too busy looking at your stitching. Japanese Octagon Garden is absolutely beautiful and the frame is perfect for it. I very much like the satin stitching you used to delineate the "windows" and it was lovely seeing it again. Good luck at the show. Try to relax and enjoy the retreat, I also feel awkward in social settings but have recently started making myself get out to some local stitching events and find that I enjoy being around other stitchers. Lovely video with your mom last week and was I able to hear just fine.

Thanks Donna. I had a lovely weekend at the retreat. Even though I felt awkward a lot of the time there was always a common thing I could talk to people about: stitching!!

Thank you!! I checked out Benjamins Crafts and they do have heaps!! I'm going to find a conversion and have fun getting lovely beads :) I referred at least two people to your Etsy Store for that Wichelt book at the Mirabilia retreat this weekend. Lots of people wanted it. (Hopefully they'll fill up their shopping carts with lots of other things!)

Beautiful stitching. That frame you are using for that huge project ...what size is it and what brand? I have never seen one that large. What is the total size of that project? Can’t wait to see the completed project. Have fun at your retreat!
@TashtheStarCrossedStitcher6 жыл бұрын
That frame is the Quantum Frame from Omanik Factory. I think it's 110cm wide! Sarah Braizear is 479x472 stitches, and I'm working it on 46 count, so when she's done she will be nearly 21*21 inches. She doesn't even fit on a Fat Quarter of 40 count!! I really want to have it finished by May 1st, but I think I still have a long way to go :/

Have fun at the Mirabilia retreat, I wish I could go too but my friend Rebecca is going and hopefully picking me up a mermaid or fairy chart. I'm going to the sampler retreat in Wyong in June. You inspired me to try sampler stitching, I'm currently stitching one for my nan's 100th Birthday in June, I'm making it up as I go 😉 Your work is beautiful. I'm just starting bobbin lace, crafthouse magic is doing video tutorials for beginners.

Thank you for another wonderful video! I just love everything you do. Your sampler video inspired me to start Miriem Brocklehurst and I adore it - thank you! One question related to the terrific video you did with your Mom, is there a centralized site online that displays the Nashville previews? With thanks - and congratulations on your new job. You should wear your gorgeous name tag to work! 😎 -Jennie

OOOohhh I love Miriem Brocklehurst. It was one of my favourites at the Fitzwiliam. How are you progressing? Tell me all about it so I can live vicariously through you :P There's isn't an official single source for where you can find all of the Nashville previews (unfortunately!). Mum gets emails from each designer as she's registered as an attendee. But a useful website that does seem to have most of the releases on one page is Stitches 'N Things on their Nashville preview page. www.stitchesnthings.com/NashvilleSneakPeeks.html

Tash... here comes something out of left field... I'm in the US and I have been searching and searching for the firefly fairies from Lavender and Lace chart. Since it's out of print I cannot even find it on eBay... was wondering if you were interested in selling yours (beautiful work and framing by the way!) if you still have it. you can email me from here if you are... I'm happy to pay the shipping and so forth of course! Keep stitchin' and making your videos!

Hi Nana, unfortunately I have already given my chart away. I have seen it come up on eBay and stash unload occasionally, so I will keep an eye open for you. Sorry and Good luck!
