What a crafting oasis you have! What have you found is the best way to cut foam board? An rotary cutter with a duller, used blade or a new blade that is set aside special for paper? Scissors or a box cutter? Seems like everything I have tried crushes the edges of the foam board or is that simply my technique? Your Hello Winter is gorgeous! Your stamp collection is awesome. I have often thought about making my own cards but in the apartment we are in, there is very limited storage and with having stuff for my 2-year-old grandson and my cross stitch and sewing supplies, really don't have extra space or funds. I do love the uniqueness of handmade cards and with the price of greeting cards, it is more and more tempting to start off with a couple generic stamps and then perhaps type and print out the sentiment inside as a way to save some money to get started. I am so happy that I came across your floss tube. You are always so entertaining and a wealth of information and knowledge. Happy crafting!
@Sarahthenorthwoodsstitcher Жыл бұрын
I use an exacto cutter and only for mat-board and foam board. The cleaner the blade the smoother the cut. I also use a metal edged ruler when cutting. Some days are good, others not so much 😅I love my stamps! I’ve been collecting since my grandparents bought me my first one at the age of maybe 11? If you’re budget is tight pick up holiday things after the holidays to make a few cards and keep them in a binder for the following year. I often use paper doilies and even foam hearts from a kids craft section to do quick and fun Valentines 💘 it’s homemade and heartfelt. Thanks so much for watching! Craft on!

The creative flow looks more like a path of destruction following a tornado. If you want to see a jaw dropping studio, go back to the Antique Stitchers, Liz and Shelly. Look for the tour of Shelly’s mill studio. They are near Cincinnati. Again, jaw dropping and a cathedral of crafting we all dream about.

Amazing crafting space!! I tried Sulky thread once, I used it on a JBW in the round design, red Sulky on white fabric and the red color seemed to rub off on the fabric some. I don't know if I had a faulty spool or what... Have you ever had that to happen with Sulky?? I love your DMC cabinet!!
@Sarahthenorthwoodsstitcher Жыл бұрын
I haven’t been using Sulky for very long but have noticed that it’s happened to me when using a fabric that isn’t treated a certain way maybe? I often discard the kit fabrics for something from my own stash. Kit fabric I keep for carding or quick ornaments. Had an apple design bleed it’s red once and it was the kit fabric😔fortunately it just looked like a cool shadow effect. Thanks for watching!
