Hi Chris - I am just tickled to see our "Mad as a Hatter" back appearing in the neighborhood. NH is a beautiful state. Our daughter and her wife lived in Barrington, NH for about 7 years. They had turkey families in their yard, a groundhog lived under their shed, they saw foxes, fishing cats, and tortoises. My daughter was disappointed she never saw a moose. They moved to Grants Pass, OR last September and she now works for the US Forest Service in the Grants Pass area. But they do miss many things about NH. Take Care!!

Baby turkeys are called poults or chicks😂😂😂. Juvenile male turkeys are called jakes 😂😂😂. Young female turkeys are called Jenny’s😅😅 and the full grown males are called Toms or gobblers. But I love your interpretation of turklets 😂😂 a snack. Zeresh is beautiful

Welcome back, Chris! I love that you are in New England now. We have wild turkeys wandering our neighborhood often. I was out for a walk one day and there were a half dozen or so where I was headed. One of them decided to stare me down and when its feathers went up, I turned and walked away. LOL Never challenge a turkey! We also had an injured one in our yard a couple of. years ago. I called a bird sanctuary to ask what I could do and gave it some help from a distance. :) If you think that black bear was big, wait until a moose comes strolling down your driveway. 😂 Lovely stitches…congrats on your finishes. There is a needlework/yarn shop in Hollis, ME called Camp Wool. They carry some cross stitch supplies but if you want to head to MA, Stitch New England is a full cross stitch shop in North Attleboro.

You will find yourself doing research on who eats what kind of plants so you are not wasting time and money planting their favorite snacks.

So glad to see you! I love your bear story. My daughter moved from Brooklyn to Connecticut last year. In May she was walking around to the back of the house to go into the mud room after walking her dog and she came upon a black bear in the back yard. It was 15’ away from her. Fortunately the dog didn’t see it and she quickly backed up and went to the front door. Immediately started filming the bear. She was pretty shook up. Like you, they also have turkeys and deer. A big change from Brooklyn. That Santa is so cute!
