Hi Sarah! Wonderful gift that you stitched Ros. Wonderful progress on Oh Holy Night advent calendar, looking like it might possibly be a finish yet this year, which would be a crowning jewel to celebrate your 50th birthday. Your umbrella piece stitched up beautifully and is a great piece for your umbrella collection. Love the progress on your WIPs. I am so happy that stitching is indeed bringing you some much needed stress relief as you work through the process of trying to find the right fit for a new school for Charlotte. I cannot even fathom all the hoops to jump through, i's to dot, and t's to cross as you champion for Charlotte and what is the right fit for her and your family. Prayers for all involved in this very difficult decision. My favorite Love Poppet PDF is Noel but I really love the Star needle minder. I think I am finally turning the corner and possibly getting over the illnesses that have plagued me since the beginning of February although according to my old primary care doctor I need to see an ENT specialist but will confirm with my new primary care doctor today as to what his opinion is. Jeez I hate changing doctors and wish my old primary care hadn't decided to move out of state as a plan for his retirement. I am still really exhausted from all of this and hope that will improve soon and, of course, as a 3-year-old, Walter is constantly testing how far he can push the boundaries which, I am sure you remember, is exhausting in and of itself. This mean period of his has to end soon I hope and pray that it is not replaced by something even more annoying. I am so glad I raised a girl and didn't have to go through a lot of these "boy" phases and that his parents have to deal with it 3/4 of the time - LOL - the joys of being a grandma is that they go home at the end of the day and grandma gets a break. I am much too old to deal with this every day of the week. Once again, prayers for you and your family concerning Charlotte's education. Happy stitching. Dawn in Texas

Thanks Dawn. Little ones testing the boundaries is exhausting. Apparently perfectly normal, but exhausting nonetheless. Sounds like Walter has a bunch of energy and ideas he needs an outlet for. It’s the beginning of getting ready for preschool and other company where he can learn to work it out among his peers and learn that contrary to everything he know so far, the world isn’t all about him. Mind you, I know some adults who haven’t quite caught on to that yet! 🤣 Fingers crossed for yo7 that you are indeed on the road to recovery and feeling more like yourself Dawn. Take care.

So glad you are already enjoying Love Poppet. The words on Il pleut are hard to read, some of them even after you stitch them, but I think that’s because of the sketchy style and the reliance on the back stitching. They do suit the piece though.

I absolutely adore Love Poppet designs. I have already stitched the Robin, the Deer, the Wren and the Blue Tit. I do hope there will be more in the bird series. I cannot put these away, they are happily perched on my ‘tree’. In the meantime I think the Ladybird would be a delightful stitch.

The needleminders look really sweet, don’t they? Thanks for the empathy over the SEN journey. Really hoping this year won’t be as awful as some have been. I think I can’t face another fight with them. Last one ended up with submissions to the Children’s Commissioner. But I guess somehow we find the fight when we need it. Like you say though, parents really have enough going on in the every day without the extra struggle. Fingers and toes and everything else crossed!

Thank you Margaret. I like the wren and snowdrops too. I was so blessed to be gifted a number of packs from what must have been a Vicki Clayton silk club at some point by one of my viewers. They are so smooth and glide beautifully as you stitch. I used another silk brand recently which was much more fluffy, equally beautiful, but it’s just interesting to see the differences. But I guess there are differences between the cotton brands too.

Sarah, you are absolutely the best Mum that Charlotte could have. I can only imagine the time and emotion wrapped up in being Charlotte’s best advocate. Your stitching is wonderful as always. I really like your color conversion on the Blackbird project. I’ve got 51 motifs done on 324 but the new version is even more intriguing! My best friend and her husband are traveling in Ireland right now. I grew up in England but have yet to make it to Ireland…some day!

Oh Sarah, many prayers for your family as you work so diligently to determine next best steps for Charlotte. Thank you for sharing your projects with us, and for spreading the news about Love Poppers. They are new to me! That Rockin' Robin is very sweet, as is the little wren with snowdrops. I think her talented use of bright, eye catching colors is part of the draw for me. I love how cheerful her designs appear. I have started a "daily thread" because of you....although it's currently looking like a "daily when I can remember and sometimes two threads when I get carried away" project. My discipline and routine can use some work, but I like this very much and I always think of you when I pull it from my bag!

I agree with you about Claire’s design aesthetic. Her patterns are very cheerful! I’m so glad you’ve started a daily thread piece. Some days I play catch up too. Part of the reason I started a daily thread was to choose a project I felt needed a boost, or I needed to rekindle my love of. I thought a daily thread would help do that without the pressure of having to do more on it. If I’m enjoying it and want to keep stitching more threads in then that’s perfect. I consider the renewed enthusiasm for the project a success. So just enjoy it and go with the flow.

My 8 year old grandson is autistic and when they moved from Lubbock, Texas to College Station, Texas (clear across the state) finding a new school was the priority. He has been at his new school for almost a year and what a fantastic fit it has been. I pray you will find the same fit for Charlotte.
