I do like your way of keeping track of the color changes. As I watch your video I comment as if I was sitting in your home. I am from Minnesota USA and it was five above this morning, feeling like -19. Brr!

Congratulations on the finish. I've not finished the Elf yet. This week hopefully. where can I see Shannon's 2025 Christmas Sal? Can't find a full photo on her website.
@TheFlosstubeStitcher29 күн бұрын
Thank you very much! I’m not sure she’s posted a full photo of her SAL yet. She usually only posts enough to spark interest and then posts the rest as she finished them. Sadly I won’t be participating this year as when she first showed her teaser I wasn’t in love with it. After that opinion proved popular with many, she changed it up a bit and it looks much better now. However I’d already made other plans for the year. Maybe next year I’ll get back into her SALs because I do love her designs.

I think there is a tutorial on diagonal stitching on here I think, it was one of our prolific male stitchers but I can’t think of his name now darn it. He was doing a whole series of beautiful older houses last I saw him but was doing several other big full coverage ones as well. OriettaStitches did a tutorial on the frames too I think, if she still has it up. You’re a very good teacher but if they could be found it would save you some of your time? The mug finish is lovely, it’s too bad framing is so expensive, I have several bigger projects I’d like to have framed but have to save my money to help grandkids get their kittens desexed . Vets are so expensive these days, just the first appointments for shots and tests will be at least $300. probably more. Enjoy your leave and holidays🎄🎅🏼🙋🏼♀️

Thank you for the suggestions! I’ll have a look at those videos, I might just be able to use them sometime. Yes framing costs are ridiculous. I might try and frame my own this year - we’ll see. Ouch don’t envy you with the vet costs. My cats stay indoors so I don’t have to visit the vet, but I remember the initial cash outlay was very high !

I’ll swap our weather for yours. Woke up to snow flurries. Just enough to make it messy and it’s 32F. Absolutely hate winter. Give me a steady 80F and I’m happy.

Hmmm yes that sounds a bit too cold. Maybe somewhere inbetween would be nice 🥰

Carolyn, which floor stand are you using for your huge cross stitch projects? I love my lowery but it cant handle the millennium frame I bought.
@TheFlosstubeStitcher29 күн бұрын
I use the NeedleNeeds floor stand that goes with the Millenium frame. It really depends on where you’re located. The cost of those now is very high as is the shipping. But there is a great Australian floor stand that would be also be suitable.

When you say five days, how many hours per day???
@TheFlosstubeStitcher29 күн бұрын
It varies. Sometimes I only get 1-2 hours, sometimes it’s 3-4. So I guess on average maybe 3 hours?

Hmm. You could maybe start on Etsy. There are a lot of designers on there with small projects for beginners. Also I would definitely recommend Shannon Christine Designs. All her charts are beginner friendly, with no fractional stitches and most don’t have backstitching either. My advice is to look for small designs with full cross stitches only and minimal color changes. Then you can work your way up to more colors and then venture into different types of stitches. Thankfully KZbin has lots of videos now that should be able to help you. Best of luck 🥰
