Praying that Charlotte’s enthusiasm holds when she starts school this week! So as you were talking about the Jungle Nights color I had a thought that since it does go well with the dmc color you are using that maybe using Jungle Nights for the letters inside the box or maybe some of the birds would also give it extra dimension.

Well Sarah the 50th WA Sampler is ready for framing so I'm free to choose from my pile of WIPs. A different splint is being tried for a month as 2 months in the shortened one didn't work and my finger won't straighten!☹️ thus I'm stitching the final corner flowers of 'Tudor Bee' and watching you😊 Yes I fell in love and began it then found a lot more stitching than I'd anticipated. Still don't feel like stitching RE one handed but love how yours is growing. I do hope that Charlotte settles into her new school and makes friends.

Thanks for allowing us to spend some time with you in your kitchen. I enjoyed a cup of tea while I watched & stitched. So good to hear that things went well with Charlotte's visit to her new school. I hope that continues into next week's school start! When you do the border around your specialty stitches sampler, I hope you'll show us the finish and let us know if you have any tips. I'd love to see it! It has me intrigued since I saw MFE's video. While I don't stitch samplers myself, I think it would also look nice around a smaller stitch along the lines that I enjoy doing. While listening to you talking about retreats, my stomach was not happy. I consider myself to be an extreme introvert and I don't think I could manage to make myself go into any room with strangers in it, no matter the number, sit down and start talking, even about stitching! LOL I could definitely go to the retreat...but I'd stay in my room and stitch the whole weekend! Looking forward to your next video! Take care!

Thanks for joining me Sue. I will certainly share the hem stitch finish when I get to it. Another viewer pointed me in the direction of some other great resources for mitred corners on the finish too. I think the hem stitch would be brilliant on any stitched piece. If I can learn it, it would be my intention to use it on things other than samplers too. I do understand that the retreat maybe isn’t for everybody, but I did want to say the thought of it is scarier than the reality, and there are lots of introverts in that room, honestly. What about trying a zoom call where there’s no pressure to speak or even be on camera? The Across the Pond Zoom is really a no pressure group and you can just sit on your end watching without having to speak or be on camera if you would like to have a little more stitchy company. I know several folks have tried it that way and some have even started to join the chat after a few months when they can see how it operates. Across the Pond is very popular so I recommend booking early if you do fancy trying it out. No pressure, just a thought.

An anonymous Zoom meeting might work to start. Can you tell me when they happen and where I can join in? I hope Charlotte has had a very nice school start this year at her new school. Dear Sarah, It was lovely to hear from you and share in the time you had with Kathleen and her husband. Further to my comments about hemstitch on your previous episode. Krista West has had her designs published in her book Everyday Folk, released today. Krista frequently uses a drawn thread hem and the instructions in her new book are first rate. I weave my cut thread back in at the corners rather than extend the drawn thread into the hem. I recommend Krista's book and her flosstubes are always interesting. Fingers crossed for you all as Charlotte adjusts to her new school. Take care, Linda.

I have just spent my long weekend catching up on ALL of your past videos since I have enjoyed them so much (Yes - I am that person who has to watch from start to finish 🙃). Jan, I think Jacob created this sampler in the style of older samplers where it was very common for there not to be a full alphabet. Letters I and J were often interchangeable in writing, as were P and Q. I know there’s a reason for missing out X. Y and Z too but I can’t remember exactly now.

Thank you so much for letting me know. I will try to keep my face in frame better. I did notice halfway through this time that I dropped off the bottom a bit when I changed my seating position. Hopefully, next time will be better for you.

You have become one of my favorites to watch. Your voice and demeanor are so sweet and you go out of your way to encourage others to meet up. Thank you. ❤️ I LOVE your sweet loin pillow gift. Gorgeous! Also, that Rejoice sampler is amazing. And the lavender fabric you chose is beautiful too. I’d like to stitch that bee too…someday.❤️
