A customer asked our previous finisher to put Easter Bird on one side and Spring Bird on the other side, so that all she had to do was turn the cube around. It saved her money and storage space! Thanks to your tutorial, I would not be afraid to try this myself:-) Shelly

someone who stitched the country cottage needlework Christmas village said on her flosstube that she wanted to FFO as standing blocks. And one of her viewers mentioned you and your tutorial as a go-by. I love that idea and I love how the cross stitch community is so helpful to all. Thanks for your tutorials--esp this one. Now I have more incentive to stitch a Christmas village.

Hi from South Africa Helen! I loved this tutorial. Because I don't have a sewing machine and saw my small cushions by hand, this is a wonderful new way for me to display my smalls. Thanks so much for this, look forward to seeing any other ideas you can share.

I really like this finish! A few washers on the bottom under the last fabric strip would help weight it a bit. The hot knifes can break pretty easily. If you do invest in one, careful, but they’re worth it. Thank you for sharing this.😁💜👍🏻

Thanks for the tip about the hot knife. They had one at Walmart when I bought the foam, but it looked cheap so I didn't get it.

I've done some of these using the floral oasis and wrapped it in a neutral fabric first. I put a monthly design on each side with a seasonal ribbon around the middle and set it in the middle of my coffee table. The styrofoam looks a lot sturdier. The fabric strip works better around the middle too because you can only pull the ribbon tightly and pin it on the bottom.
@helend.flosstube3 жыл бұрын
That was smart to put the extra fabric around the floral foam first. That stuff is even messier than styrofoam!

@@helend.flosstube OH MY GOODNESS!!! GREAT idea. I am 65 yrs old. I started cross stitching 35 years ago, then quit stitching for 28 years. I still have dozens of finishes in a drawer, one being the Monopoly board. I came back to stitching 3 years ago. It is so fun seeing how all you young people finish your projects. Starting to actually finish some of my antiques.

Another lovely tutorial! I picked up an electric carving knife at a thrift store for cutting upholstery foam, but it might work for styrofoam, too. That being said, I've just fallen down the rabbit hole of DIY hot wire foam cutters on KZbin....
