What make of dyes did you use, the colours are so vibrant 😊

@@Sallyannestitches Dharma trading company’s fiber reactive procion dye, but the real trick is to make sure you’re using soda ash and urea or salt to fix the dye, and to pre-wash all the fabric really well.

The greens and reds in particular are stunning! Do they come close to the Aztec red you were looking for?

Yes! Caroline said she’s ready to start stitching. ❤️

These came out amazing! Did you use any kind of dye fixative? Also, are the dyes from Dharma Trading? These look so much brighter than anything I've personally gotten with Rit.

You got it- I love the dharma trading company. I’m pretty sure they’re cheaper than rit, too. Our colors came out bright because we preached our fabric, soaked it in soda ash, and then depending on the dye technique added either urea or salt to the dye.

@@Elizabeth-pj5if Thanks so much! I will definitely try it with better prep and materials now that I see the difference it makes. Maybe someday you ladies can make a full tutorial on it, all I've ever seen around KZbin are Rit tutorials personally. The Rit does work fine, but these are next level.
