You are 100% right about the looks. The typical gaming phone look has mostly stopped me from actually thinking about buying one, but this one doesn't look too bad. Hopefully they keep going and in a few years most companies that make gaming phones will go with a more sleek design that blends in better in a professional setting.

Hello Floss, Avid Genshin player here. Genshin means 'candidate god' in some translations and you play as a character who could at one point ascend to godhood. It could also mean original god. But jist know there is a lot of lore about gods and their impact on the world. At least thats how i see it. Gaming phones are great. Coming from my galaxy s22 ultra, the redmagic 9 pro has been a huge upgrade for me in terms of features I actually use. Headphone jack, under the screen camera, an Ir blaster, built in fan, insane speaker, and massive battery. Im waiting for the s24 ultta snyder cut because I really want to know how samsung are justifying 1300 dollars while redmagic is asking 650 for the 12GB model. I guess if you're an s-pen junkie, it may be worth it but I cant see why 1300

I bought a redmagic 9 pro on Facebook Marketplace today for get this $300. The guy was asking $400 but I got him down to $300. I'm and isheep honestly but I've been wanting to get an android phone for a while. Last android phone I had before I switched to Apple was the OnePlus 7 pro in 2019. And I've been using the redmagic 9 pro all day and boy! Has android really catched up and in other terms surpassed Apple. I'm still keeping my 15 pro max as my main one since I'm already in too deep into the Apple ecosystem but now I'm glad I have the best of both worlds.

Sure thing. One issue though.... Few companies are partnered with cellular companies to sell their devices. When people get a new phone, it's usually a free upgrade or a $0 down phone.

Asus wishes they had the same trade in and discount programs that Samsung does. Also software support is iffy. So the ball is in Asus'es court. I bought the S24+ this year and I'm not regretting it at all because I know next year I'll be able to upgrade to S25+/Ultra for half the price. Asus can't beat that or even match it.

I got the Samsung note20 in late 2020 and still use it. People get surprised when I tell them how old it is because there's literally only 2 hairline cracks on the top of my screen where I dropped it the *one* day I had my case off 2 years ago. I still see no reason to upgrade if my current phone works perfectly fine 🤷🏻‍♀️ I know a lot of people who used an iPhone 6 for YEARS

Honestly, the design of the ASUS ROG 8 isn't bad, but I personally liked the design of the 7 more. If ASUS had to use this design, I wish they would have used it for something like the new Zen phone instead. The ROG phone was never supposed to be the 'regular' phone, it was kind of meant to stand out. Nevertheless, great video, and I'm hyped for the S24 Ultra review.

My thought exactly. Many people praised this design as not cringe or whatever, but although this is good, but it's too ordinary for the supposed 'gaming' phone. ROG 7 has a very distinct appearance. It won't be to everyone's taste of course, but it screams gaming phone.

They went for a weird middle ground for this, neither too gamery but still with some "gamer edges", though I find it acceptable. IP68 is good, and they added wireless charging. Some gaming phone enthusiasts don't want their phones to stand out that much. I find issue with the front design, which was clearly a downgrade (except for screen brightness or whatever), and the LEDs could have been RGB for such an expensive phone.

The Rog 8 just lost a lot of character in my opinion. The 7 had symmetrical bezels, making it look very much like a Galaxy S8 or LG V30 from the front (to me sone of the prettiest phones ever). Sony still uses a similar but boxier design. Now the Rog 8 has a punch hole and looks like 99% of the other android phones from the front.

Just got thie global version of this phone and paired it with AT&T. It will not make or receive calls but everything else works. Returning it back. Wished Flossy would have connected his AT&T sim and actually tried to call with it before I decided to buy it 😮‍💨

I'll be honest. So far this is the only phone I was really waiting for Floss review. The rest are pretty much same old same'ol while ROG phone I'd say - matured transformation(yes with some downgrades). Gaming but turned down the tone to look like any bar phone(classic 😂)just like gaming laptops this year. I love it! Quad HD screen and different color option are the only things missing in ROG phone 8. Other than that, Asus listen to Floss and made it ip68 water resistant, and added wireless charging 🎉.

@@DASOMILITIA I have an Asus ROG phone 5s, and I use the backlight all the time. If I paid for it, I'm gonna use it 😅. I'd say the battery life was the same at the end of each day when I tried to test it. There are so many variables in testing battery health. If you buy a phone like the ROG, and DONT use something as specific as this to the phone, then you should just buy any other android phone with the same specs🤷‍♂ My REAL gripe with ASUS, is that they dont offer software updates for their phones, I'm stuck on android 12👀 until I can get the OnePlus 12🤕

My Asus7 still work like a monster, never need to worry about battery life. I think reduce the size of the battery on the ROG8 is a mistake, ppl need that battery life. Awesome vid as always, thank you Flossy

Ngl, I was all in and dead set on copping the Redmagic 9 Pro after you did that video, but now I'm back to being unsure 🤣🤦🏾‍♂️ I do like that the 9 Pro has a 6.8 inch screen, so I wouldn't have to downsize screen wise. I specifically get reasonably big enough screens to play CODM comfortably on. And btw, changing the level of customizable nerdiness for different friend groups is wild, yet so relatable 🤣🤣🤣

Flossy, another Dope phone review!! Just keeps getting better and better!! 🔥🙌🔥 The dot matrix back display is Sooooo DOPE and so classy!! 💥 I wish it also shows the name of the song you're playing. Like you said, Galactus 3.0 should have something like this and it will be game over!! I feel the same as you with that diagonal stripe on the back... The photos are usable. The video is nice but the night shots and video need improvement. But check out that gold colour on your mags at 1:11.03s. Just Mad Bro!! That gold colour is fire!! 😎 Those wheels are Sic by the way... The Aero Active Cooler is not as cool looking or sounding as last year's but this Phantom Black with the matrix back display is much, much cooler, classier and no other phone has it!! Please roast Samsung about using their Exynos chip set in the S24 and S24+ in other countries except for the USA and Canada but they are still charging premium prices for them!! 😡😡 Along with no charger, no case, no pre-installed screen protector in the box, no fast charge (need at least 60W in 2024), and most importantly, no IR blaster!! 😡😡 Since Galactus 3.0 has this new Gorilla Glass Armor anti-reflection screen, if you are able, please test out what happens when you put a standard glass screen protector on it - does it affects the anti-reflection capability?? Cannot wait for the Galactus 3.0 Snyder Cut - 'birdman hands are rubbing together' already... 😁
