No it doesn’t. Comparing one thing to a completely different thing does not put either things into perspective. If you were to compare his heights then to what they are now and say “put into perspective how far you can come” then yeah but what you said is just wrong.

I don’t know about toughest, but definitely most technical. The people who do PV I’d say are the overall most athletic of any track athlete. But when it comes to the hardest competition event, it must be the middle distances

@hlulanizitha9920 3 жыл бұрын
@@bluetickfreddy101 This is an empirical question that's easy to answer, I'd argue that runners lactate more than pole vaulters which means they're obviously working harder than PV's.
@benanastasoff8980
@benanastasoff8980 3 жыл бұрын
@@bluetickfreddy101 I absolutely agree that pole vaulters are extremely impressive. The amount of work they do to be both physically strong enough and in practice to use the pole to their advantage the way they do is incredible. I also know the kind of training MD and distance runners do though and I know how hard it is to keep running fast for as long as an 800m. I appreciate all disciplines in the sport of Athletics for their individual difficulties and triumphs. The pole vault not being the most strenuous event is not a bad thing by any accounts. It does require the most technique and all around physique of any event, and that is why I respect it so much. But following a world class PV competition, vaulters are far less spent than an 800/1500 guy. Not to mention the recovery period necessary for the marathon and ultras. There’s a reason why an athlete as great as Mondo can just keep on breaking records week after week and winning DL competitions less than a week apart. It’s because it isn’t as physically strenuous as distance running. You don’t see even the Great marathoners like Kipchoge running every marathon on the WMM list. They physically can’t do it because it would break down their bodies too much. That is what makes that discipline impressive. Like I said, every part of track and field has its own challenges. But the challenge of PV is not about it being the most physically demanding
