This is the adversity Quincy needs to improve. Going to the Olympics at 16 makes you feel invincible, but now this opens the door on what he needs to improve on. Stay humble, young man.

My son runs with Drew on the Bayside Indoor & Outdoor Track Team. Drew is the VA Class 5 Indoor State Champion for the 500m and the Outdoor State Champion for the 400m for the last school year! I’ve watched this young man train and compete. It wasn’t a bad day for Quincy. It was great preparation for Drew! He works really hard. His dad is there for every practice and meet. Dare I predict he’s not in his peak yet? I’m not sure but from my racing experience and when I watch the best in the world/collegians during PEAK shape they’ll finish a race and have some sort of adrenaline and be jumping up and down and running through the line pointing at the crowd. Congrats to the winner, would love to see a rematch later in the season in the open 400m outdoor. Indoor is hard to navigate after being tripped up no matter how big or small the trip is. Either way it throws off your momentum, hard to try to come back in a situation like that when your competition has just about the same speed as you.

It's Quincy's first race and yes the loss of concentration and bump did cause him to lose his momentum but it takes nothing away from the winner. And that's exactly the kind of competition Quincy needs to get faster. That was a phenomenal run by the young man. People aren't even physically able to be run like that need to stop being so critical and just enjoy the competitive athleticism.🤔

A good coach, weather in grade school, high school, or college can correct those issues. Congrats to all these amazing athletes.

A 15yr old Olympian running 44’s get demolished by a complete unknown to destroy an untouchable national record. Yeah that kid totally isn’t doping…

The kid is far from an unknown. The race is rarely ran. There are around 10 American men alone that can break that record.

If the “unknown” senior is doping for breaking a high school record in an uncommon event, then I’m sure you’d think the sophomore who beat grown men in pro races isn’t clean himself…

Quincy is not on a high school training regiment. He is on a pro training regiment. Some of these big races will not be his best and will seem as if he's not doing well. In HS, every race seems to be a big race.
