Torrential rain led to the city to reverse the flow of the Chicago River into Lake Michigan. abc7chicago.com/flash-flood-w...

I like how the title makes it sound like it’s a natural occurrence that happened due to rain, when in reality it was done by the city.

I think they believe that most people in Chicago already knew about the Chicago River canal system that controls the flow of the river. It's been around since 1900 they teach it in history classes and PBS has shows on it all the time.
@yopappy659910 ай бұрын
@@jlv3x Read the description, which could’ve easily been the title and saved the confusion for those of us who don’t live in Chicago, haven’t seen the pbs shows and can’t possibly know everything there is to know, as much as we would like to. They posted it on YT for all to see. Words have meaning. They know how to use them just fine, they’re all college educated. A title would be one of the most important things for journalists for many reasons I shouldn’t have to explain. If your naive enough to believe they just threw that title together without any thought of what it might mean to the majority of people who don’t have the extra information, you gotta a lot to learn.

The sewer water can be treated with microbes that eat bacteria before opening the locks and contaminating Lake Michigan. Who is testing the contaminants in the the sewer water before they dump it into Lake Michigan? Why doesn't the City of Chicago tell us what the chemical make up of the lake water samples are so we all know what the contaminants are and where they land in relation to the Federal EPA clean water standards?

@@ftwgunnerpwns nobody’s talking about a conspiracy. It’s called reality there are billionaires, and they own everything. Every law is been twisted and rewritten to accommodate them. The world revolves around them, because they have more money than most nations. And the fact that people work slave labor jobs and then can’t simply go and enjoy a day in clean water is because greedy corporations have lobby Congress to allow them to cut corners and not dispose of their own chemicals and waste in the proper fashion. It’s not a conspiracy , it’s called a corrupt business model that favors an elite few and the fact that you would think that this has something to do with conspiracies like flat earth or QAnon shows that you are not educated on any of this, and you have no concept of or understanding of how the political world or the corporate world works. Let me give you a little help in understanding things. Politics is a game for fools and billionaires and you are not a billionaire so don’t be a fool.

Whatever happened to TARP, also known as “Deep Tunnel,” a system of deep, large diameter tunnels and vast reservoirs designed to reduce flooding, improve water quality in Chicago area waterways and protect Lake Michigan from pollution caused by sewer overflows? TARP was supposed to capture and store combined storm water and sewage that would otherwise overflow from sewers into waterways in rainy weather. This stored water is pumped from TARP to water reclamation plants (WRPs) to be cleaned before being released to waterways.
