Today I tested viral tiktok food hacks to see if they work. We'll test 5 TikTok Hacks that involve food recipes & a bonus item. How to make Dunkaroos, pigs in a blanket, dalgona coffee review, mug in a cup, disney churros, and so on. Are these life hacks recipes any good? or are they disappointing? I loved seeing SSSniperwolf test recipes so I wanted to try a few as well!

@@sanablue explains why I am the opposite. It’s not that I am not artistic though it’s because it’s hard to do something right when you have no eye, in this case taste, for it. I for some reason can’t easily tell apart taste or smells or if thing even smell good or bad. I’ve been known to not be able to tell the difference between any meat cooking, chicken cooking i could guess pork.

The vanilla goes in after the flour because vanilla is an alcohol based liquid, it evaporates when exposed to high temperatures and the flavor can completely disappear if added too early. There’s obviously different factors that affect this, or else it wouldn’t be such a widely used ingredient in baking. But that’s the general reason vanilla is added last in recipes.

Just a small tip that I learned working at a coffee shop is if your coffee has a bitter taste, add a pinch of salt, Sounds odd but it really works. Also you can make the everything bagel seasoning if you want to try it. Here's one I found 5 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds. 3 tbsp of both dried onion flakes and poppy seeds. 2 tbsp dried garlic flakes and 4 teaspoons of kosher or flaked sea salt

The frothy coffee is also called Dalgona coffee after a South Korean actor (Jung Il Woo) ordered a whipped coffee in a cafe in Macau on some tv show and he said it tasted like Dalgona, a South Korean honeycomb toffee. Everything I have read said it started in Asia then got popular via social media thanks to quarantine.

There are so, so many "in a mug recipes" out there. Some of them have eggs and some don't. I've done cinnamon rolls, banana muffin, brownie/cake, vanilla cake, and chocolate chip "cookie". There's also "in a mug" mass produced desserts by Betty Crocker. Jackie isn't DoInG iT WrOnG! This just predates Tick Tok by about 8+ years.

So just a heads up for anyone gf wanting to try this! 😊😊 *I did end up using the mix n I added an egg to it each time I made a mug cake n man it got so HUGE!! 😁😁 but was tasty!

I really like baking and am pretty good if I do say so myself. I can get most decent recipes to turn out good first time around, even when the recipe is complex or when I need to modify it. The two biggest tips I would give to someone who wants to learn how to bake are: 1. Practice 2. Watch other people bake The practice will give you the practical experience you need to develop your "baking sense" which is just a kind of instinct of what works and what doesn't and what different ingredients do for your bake. I've practiced and learned enough that I don't even need a recipe for things like pancakes. Watching other people bake and cook will help you to know what thing are supposed to look like. This will even further train your "baking sense" so that you can improvise when you need to and sometimes even "fix" a recipe when baking. Happy baking!!

What’s so funny to me is that people have been making that “whipped instant coffee” in prison for YEARS, and it’s just now becoming a big deal lol the only difference is that when making it the prison way you use instant coffee and sugar and whip it by hand until it’s that texture and then just eat it and it’s a sugary, sweet treat rather than putting it over milk.

I think I know how Jackie fails at baking, cooking isn’t usually that exact. Normally you’re adding an ingredient to taste and a little bit more or less than a recipe (or a substitution) changes the final result in smaller ways. In baking that extra 5% of flour or olive oil swapped out for vegetable oil could easily turn a delicious cake into a frisbee (coincidentally that’s also why things like dairy or gluten free baking are so hard to make like the original recipe, especially texture-wise). Cooking is like an art, baking is like a science.

Cooking is more like art, you can make changes, add seasonings, or make substitutions, and it (usually) still comes out okay, tasting yummy and still edible. Baking is more like science, where you can rarely use substitutions, and there is a reason for exact measurements or ingredients, otherwise you will have results you will not like, or (possibly) result in something inedible. I think you are probably a great cook because you are an awesome artist 😉 Baking just takes practice and measurement control with instructions (usually). Love your videos!
