Thank you for your tours! So inspiring. Also, you've helped me to relax some and enjoy my gardens. Not all plants work for us, always work to do, but hey all good. I know it's time consuming for you, really appreciated.

I actually have gotten ripe tomatoes off my plants. I don't typically see that until August so it was a nice surprise. So far everything is looking good except my petunias in the window boxes on the deck rail. I think they dried out a time or two. I will put them in the ground with drip irrigation so they can recover and be as beautiful as I know they can be.

Thank you so much 😊I am glad I could remove the guilt we all feel when relocating or getting rid of a plant that just is not working for us.

It’s looking amazing and it’s inspiring me to add even more wildflowers to my beds. As to green vs brown for cooling: our backyard had a summer or two where there was a lot of dead/dormant grass. I took my laser thermometer out and compared the dead grass to the green…I forget the actual numbers, but the green grass was 20-30 degrees cooler!!! And in the zone 8 north Texas zone, our 100+ degree summer heat, that makes a difference!

Yes it does. My neighbor has inplemented a DIY gray water system and he has a beautiful big lawn and flower beds that are all watered only with water from the system, so instead of it going down the sewer he utilizes it. Can you imagine how much water could be saves and how many more lawns could be grown (helping to cool things) if gray waters systems became more normalized? It is well filtered too so it is not toxic or anything.

Beautiful looking gardens, they are a pollinators dream. The only plants that we have had to stake are the crocosmia lucifers which are very tall this year. Looking forward to your new garden and how you get along with it.

I keep saying I am going to put up better supports for my crocosmia Lucifer but have yet to get to it, but they are blooming so pretty. Always a favorite of mine this time of year.

Good morning Pam! 🥰 Excited for the new garden area. Sounds like a good plan and doable! I so admire all of your Clematis ❤ many years ago, I planted a clematis, and I readily killed it lol 😅 so... I've not tried again. Dumb! As my garden matures and I gain more shaded areas, I do want try again. The direct sun here is so extreme, so I feel like it would do better with a little protection. Hmm 🤔 don't know! I'll keep watching and admiring yours in the meantime 😁

I have found some clematis to be more hardy than others. I have lost a few in my time!

So much to look at, Very nice! I have a few jotted down I would like for my garden. We just had some strong windy storms and missed the last deluge. Never seen such heavy rust on hollyhocks as this year. I tried to stave it off by trimming and sprayed copper but was too late. It even formed on the buds. May have to get resistant varieties. I just planted two new varieties this year-maybe spray copper early next year. Lol, right now the white ones are popping up like fireworks and barely any leaves. Just hope it doesn’t affect peppers. As soon as it is cool enough I need to do staking as well. The wind really rearranged things. Plants are funny as it can take years and they finally take off. Thx for the tour! It’s my first year with foxglove and I tested to see if they were ready to cut and the seeds rained down everywhere 😂.

Yep, with the foxgloves I try to gingerly take them to another area and shake them out. I always lose some along the way but thats okay. I just love spreading such easy flowers around for their early bloom.

I just planted in wire mesh bags to keep voles from eating roots. Appears to be working.

Funny you should say that I just literally ordered a bunch more. I was only planting roses in them but realize I need to use them for other things too.
