Emmi, (I hope that's not too presumptuous) this is one of my all time favorite 'church talks'! It mostly lets me know I'm not crazy, it's really okay for me to live as I do with Jesus. So much of what you presented is what He has already brought to me. Thirty years ago I heard the Lord within me saying, "Dave, if you don't get help your kids don't have a breath of a chance at anything better than this." I have expressed this quote, and will continue to, because, where else would that come from? I couldn't help but take him seriously. And so we keep going deeper, 'till now I often see myself as Nicodemus in 'The Chosen'. First where he's in a conversation with Jesus, then he's on his knees kissing Jesus hand, then being in the most special embrace with Jesus as the two of them quote the last verse of the 2nd Psalm. And most often I go the place where I remember the words I received in my prayer time in February of 2018, 'Oh Lord....Let it be that you are strong and I am willing ___ let that be my strength.' Maybe 20 years ago He said to me, seek me _ see me _ RECOGNIZE ME, then go recognize me (like, pin a metal on my chest). Which is what you likely meant when you said, look for God in everyday ways, then go tell someone. Most recently I've been invited to speak directly into His heart. Wait a minute Lord, who me? Thank you for blessing me with this sermon! The “long defeat” resonates with me, but to reframe that by adding that I am to be a “Resurrectionionist” will help me be laser focused. I ordered Miracle Man:)
