I used to worry that old-time music would die out once the 70s revival ran its course. How wrong I was, and how glad that I was wrong.

I can't stop listening to you Nora Brown. I love your tunes and style. I have you on Spotify in the car also, and today I went to the market and met a friend, and she said, "have you ever listened to Nora Brown?" We are in Australia. I am 64 and was just gifted my first ever instrument, a banjo. You are such an inspiration. Thank you.

Does anyone else hear a resemblance in tone, intonation, dynamics, phrasing and overall ethereal grace to John Renbourn in his post-Pentangle period? This is just so moving.
@Kan-o-tex3 жыл бұрын
It's not hard to imagine Mr. Renbourn appreciating Miss Brown's music, if he were still here with us. Didn't he play a little banjo? I'm thinking of that After the Dance record he recorded with Bert Jansch.

Wow, just seen that you only pick with the thumb and one finger. Impressive! I like the nice soft tone that you get by playing with bare fingers - you avoid that harsh sound that I usually associate with banjos.

Absolutely superb as usual Nora, been following your work for years now, wish I'd started playing at your age! I'm nearly 58 so I've a lot of catching up to do! Keep up the good work, best wishes from Southampton UK
