Should you evenly split the honey frames as well?

How do you not know the queen was on one of the frames you moved to the new box so now the old box does not have one?
@FlowHive5 жыл бұрын
Great question! Cedar shook the bees off the frames to ensure the queen was not transferred into the queenless hive - Leah.

Would it be okay to alternate empty frames with the full frames in the new hive body?
@FlowHive6 жыл бұрын
It is good to keep brood frames together as it keeps the brood warmer. But there are beekeepers who checkerboard. It really depends on the colony strength as well as available forage and climate. Best to check with a local beekeeper for their advice - Sam

When the eggs are laid and they are capped with wax what do they eggs feed on ?
@FlowHive3 жыл бұрын
Hey Simon, By the time the larvae are capped, they have finished being fed, so for this period of their life they just pupate. When they're first just a baby grub though they are fed royal jelly and pollen :) Our online beekeeping course, thebeekeeper.org goes through the amazing life cycle of the bee in more detail and has a free one month's trial if you'd like to check it out! - Danika

Should you keep the frame in the same order as the hive it came from? As it was already mentioned, does the location you put the frames into the new hive is important or not? Thanks Clement
@FlowHive6 жыл бұрын
Clement, we keep the same frame order if possible. We have an amazing resource available with our Community Forum forum.honeyflow.com/ which helps connect people with experienced beekeepers. You can ask your question here and Flow Beekeepers from around the world can share their opinions
