1. Does the smoke that kill the bees or drug the bees? 2. After you get the honey, how will you clean the dry honey from inside the faucet?

Smoke calms the bees it stops them taking to the air and masks the guard pheromone so the bees are temporarily not cranky, It also has them avoid the area where you smoke as a natural response to find more oxygenated space. You can simply wipe the channel with a bottle cleaner brush or a sponge on wire. -Kieran

Great video, thanks for continuing to teach. I have observed that before you hit the lid to drop the bees inside, there was a beetle... I think you didn't see it..., how bad are small beetles for what reason is it not good to have them?...and where do they enter? Why don't the bees kill them for being an "invader"? The occasional beetles is actually to be expected, in an inspection you are likely to see around 10 even in strong and healthy colony, the SHB continues to try and get to that comb with the bees fending them off. Bees cant sting through their shell and bees dont bite, so all they can do is chase them away and grab them. The Flow Hive 2 that cedar moved the colony onto has a base with large tray that can be used to catch and kill beetles and other pests. The beetle will crawl in the entrance of the hive. -Kieran

If you need to move the hive from where it's at. The bees are in a log so I would be taken the bees out of the log and putting them in the hive.

Relocating a feral colony requires extra work, and it is likely to need some professional help to carry this out effectively. -Kieran
