@@obione6362 Why am I not going to buy the gold flowing hair dollar? Lots of reasons. The first is price--possibly $3500. Also the "face value" of a dollar seems silly. The gold value will limit the collector base. And I've got the silver already. I'm good.

A great question. If you want consistency--if the rest of your coins are slabbed--then it might make sense. If you feel you have a rock solid 70 (and it can be difficult to tell a 69 from a 70), then it might be worth it. I'm personally not going to slab mine. I like having this one raw and easy to access!

Just went to the US Mint website. The Flowing Hair silver medal shows “not available “. So I guess it was popular and sold out quickly.
