It shouldn’t fade considering the design is the very first original silver coin minted in America it’s a historical significance and we should feel very lucky to be alive to be able to buy them from the mint at this time.

I got extremely lucky... On 10/19 I opened mine in Orlando. 230 Privy Mark on my Medal !!! Today on 10/21 my LCS Oviedo Rare Coins and Collectibles is sending it off to NGC in Sarasota to be graded... 🤞🤞🤞

I got one and I'm not a dealer so have faith! Mine says 230 on the cert for mintmark. I knew his wasn't one because it said none.

I noticed that there are 15 stars on the obverse. In 1794 when the original coin was issued, there were 15 states in the U.S. The U.S. flag at the time also had 15 stars (naturally), and also 15 stripes! Subsequent American flags went back to 13 stripes.

I got 1 with the privy on it and the coin dealer I go too bought it from me and he said the samething about selling it before it the hype goes away so I sold to him and got 2000 for it, the differences in the packaging is the COA because it shows the 230 privy by the portrait stamp and in the desciption instead of mint mark it says privy with 230

I'm considering selling some vintage silver that was picked up from $4.50 -$17. But then I ask myself what do I spend the paper on? Gold is high. Bills are high. I could invest in solar energy to save a couple bucks on electric, but that's like paying for electric upfront. I'll sit this one out and see where the price goes.

if folks are hating it has nothing to do with THIS coin ,,, I agree its beautiful ... charging 104.00 for an ounce of silver and with the morgan peace , changing it to 91.00 right before the release shows a level of callous from yet another GOV facility when many just do not have the funds but have an insatiable love for coins ... even double spot would be understandable. Its stuff like this the leads so many astray from the principle of stacking ... this coin will loose value and be worth little more than spot in a few years ... I for one will have NOTHING to do with the mint until their prices are back to where they were at the least ... that being said I will still say congrats to those who are happy with their purchase as we can use all the HAPPY possible these days !!

@@dukenukem001 104 dollars in fiat us paper is not a lot of money. The value of the dollar has dropped so much in the last 50 years that 104 today is like 10 bucks in 1975. It’s all a matter of perspective. I understand folks are broke, we are living through hard times and it will only get worse, but don’t hate the mint.

You both clearly don’t know anything about numismatics or how it works. Paying $104 for a low mintage silver coin is nothing. Look at the going rate for the privy’s. It’s a massive turn around for a measly $104. You get a notice we’ll before releasing allowing you time to save. Sounds like you missed out.

Depends on where you submit. It’s kinda a pain and a long process but imo it’s worth the money and hassle because not only does it get graded but the slab’s also keep the coins protected from tarnishing and being mishandled.

This is the only US Mint product that ive been interested in since i got into collecting well over a year ago and i have fully lost faith in the US Mint. If i remember correctly these were supposed to be around $60 when firy first announced them. I am not willing to spend over $90 of an oz of modern silver no matter what the mintage is. Well maybe I'd pay more for a Dan Carr piece. I would much rather support Dan Carr than the US Mint. Very crooked. This gambling for coins should be banned if the US mint is engaging in it. I have no problem with private minters making lottery coins, but this is the US Mint.

For those who bought them and are happy for whatever reason...good on you! Congrats!! As for me, personally...pass. I'm just not a fan of the mints current "collector" items. Made for collecting items... not really my thing. If they had made these and the Morgan/Peace "dollars" Ike the originals as true coins, I'd have been much happier but to turn them into medals, disappointing to me. As a collector, I agree. For those flipping, if they move them fast they should do well. I personally wouldn’t buy this stuff, especially the privy marks which will eventually take a steep drop in price. I originally thought that the 230 privy was struck 230 times which is still not relatively rare, and then I found out it’s actually 1,794 that were struck… which is not even scarce. I do think the packaging looked nice though. All of that said, as a collector, I stay away from modern manufactured scarcity and focus on actual coins that have actual scarcity/rarity and/or historical significance. However, to each there own, that’s what makes the hobby fun and enjoyable.
