Nice car, glad to see people are saving the Olds! edit: That cold idle, you need to adjust the choke probably, there is a way to set the gap on the choke. Many of them have a little vacuum dealie on the side that keeps the choke cracked open just a hair once it starts. Some have an electrical one. If that gizmo doesn't work, the only thing keeping the butterfly cracked open is the air rushing past/manifold vacuum. If it is an older engine, it might have even had a manual choke you need to hook a cable to and put a pull knob in for(manual choke is easiest to deal with anyway)

Make sure you look under it I just bought one 5800. Wanted 6500. up here in Michigan tho it has light rust and a big hole in the trunk at the wheel well. . But a rebuilt 350 rocket, shift kit tranny. I cringe wren I look at that hole but imma fix it. The suspension set up was all new, all new tires SS2 wheels. I think it's worth the money.

Did you use the 307 brackets or 455 brackets to install that motor in your car? How did you do the air conditioner bracket? Finally, are those the 455 belts? I'm trying to install a 455 in my Cutlass Supreme

I'm quite sure you know by now but just in case you don't the 307 brackets will fit and the engine mounts stays the same you don't have to change anything except that stock rear-end that will break as soon as you get down on it parts will be flying everywhere 😂don't ask me how I kno😅😂

@@an_auto_addiction5742 too many people don't understand that even a well-built 200 4r will hold up to a 455. Everybody always seems to think you need to go with a th400 or even a 700 R4, when they don't understand that the number on the transmission has nothing to do with the duty rating and everything to do with the changing transmission nomenclature by GM, heck they were putting those behind the turbo 3.8s in Grand Nationals. That's exactly what I've got behind my 455 in my 83 Cutlass.... about the only weak spot left on my Cutlass is the rear end still stock....

@@stevenallen6245 yes and no if I wanted to stick with 307 a good decent one I would have had to go about three states over from where I'm at in Kentucky at least based on the stuff that can be found online without trying to go through every Backwoods junkyard that does not do the online systems for parts listing. If I took the time to do that odds are I might find something fairly close but my job does not necessarily always give me the time to do so. But after the last time I resolved I wanted to make sure I built up something for durability not so much necessarily performance as much as making sure it holds up To that effect using gaskets all-around from Mahle, ARP fasteners for the mains rods and heads all the critical stuff as well as a few smaller things just to play it safe on the build to make sure it lasts a long time. Any performance characteristics to me on that are just a bonus..
