i went Flowmaster as well, and added the Scavenger X pipe. Sounds bad ass! I've always had Flowmaster on my 2011 and 2010 Gen 5's and you just can't beat the sound of American muscle. To me, the Borla, Corsa and others give the cars an exotic sound vs a muscle car sound or note.

Finally done and sounding great ! I didn’t mention in video but you can clearly see the tips are a tiny bit larger than stock npp quad tips. I really like that extra touch.

Glad the hear that Flowmaster changed their mufflers. I had two Flowmasters on two different trucks and they both rusted really bad. One actually fell off while I was waiting at a stop light. It broke not from where the muffler shop welded it but from the actual muffler pipe from the factory weld. I have been using Magnaflow ever since but I do miss the Flowmaster rumble. Oh and the worst part, I live in Southern California so salt is not to blame.

Dang that sucks. Yea I love the distinct rassy low rumble the Flowmaster make. Magnaflows sound very close. Good choice. The newer models of the Flowmaster are built super heavy duty like the outlaw muffler on this. But the other muffler is a delta series. That’s probably series you are talking about. I know it’s a old known issue. I was assured by multiple people and Flowmaster this has long been fixed with different materials and updates to design.

Yes came with 1le. I love it. A lot of people think it looks like a dodge spoiler but I like it. Just added wicker bill to it tonight actually

Only place I’m spotting in signs of future rust are the mounts. I can deal with that and love the note it makes. Seems different than the other choices. I did like the corsa and billy boat sound too.

I had the original Delta flow series 40 catback exhaust on my 98 Z28. I agree. I loved that exhaust. It was very clean, low tone and not overly loud. It was just right. I have been looking at this one for my 17 50th. I have been looking at the axle back though. Is there any difference in sound between the axle back vs catback?

This is axle back. There's a npp version that switches between the two mufflers like I have. And there's a non npp. With i think an outlaw muffler. Not positive. Should have links in description to both I think. If you have four exhaust tips you have npp and 2 is non npp. Either way you are good. A lot of people take my flown aster videos as a negative but its one of my favorite mods. Yes there was an issue with install but they send brand new exhaust. I kept defective ans sold and they paid my mechanic. Very good company and they won me as a customer. Also i need to do a better review of them. You can hear them better on my new grudge race video on drag strip. Didn't realize how loud they were till I replayed that video 😬

Put it to you this way if I had choice of doing it over knowing it took extra couple weeks and being able to switch to Corsa or Borla. I’d still go Flowmaster.

I highly recommend it. Either auto or standard. The auto is faster but I’m more of a manual guy.

Sounds amazing my man! Does it crackle and pop on decel like the stock np? One thing I love about stock is the nice crackle and pop on decel,but the American Thunder tone is top notch man! Sounds great!

Yes! More so because the outlaw side is kind of like an old glass pack. Its basically a straight pipe with ribs in it. So still got the crackle. One other thing I was told at high speed when I pass people she screams like a formula car.

Lol it will be loud either way. But if your worried at all just go cats. And maybe different rear exhaust. Flowmaster is probably the loudest of all of them

Can you hear much difference from stock NPP? It doesn’t seem worth a grand to pay for this. Convince me otherwise because I want a more aggressive exhaust with ability to tone down with the valves- same as stock but better

Well your absolutely correct. You aren’t going to get anything but a noise difference. But it does do that and sounds awesome. It makes the tone dealer where you can feel in your chest. I will say the tour mode is actually a bit louder and still a Flowmaster. But tour has zero drone. I like them a lot but agree for the money there is much more you can do. But after I heard them I still made it my first mod.

I am curious about that too. If I buy an aftermarket NPP it will be Flowmaster axle-back, just wondering if it is worth the difference. It is difficult to tell from videos.

Its just not fun tracking a Hellcat. We're adding a gen6 SS this summer but i found a 1SS online from a dealer in NC for $31,990 but we're not ready yet dang. Same color as yours and my gen5.

How does this compare to stock muffler with valves closed? I had an npp system from Stainless Works but valves closed volume was the same as stock muffler with valves open. Just way too loud at that point. I have headers and x-pipe and i like loud but when I close the valves I need to hear almost nothing which is why I'm back to the stock muffler.

Forgive me for my stupidity, but I was under the impression that the “Kooks long tube headers” were the business when it comes to making a good exhaust note on the 1LE , is this in competition with the flowmaster ? Or do/can they work in conjunction with each other?

No worries man, Kooks longtube headers replace the exhaust manifold on the engine down to the collector (where the 4 pipes comes together to 1 on each side). The Flowmaster Exhaust portion I replaced is the rear muffler section of the exhaust near the back of the car. So yes they absolutely can be run together. A tune is needed with the kooks headers but not with the Flowmaster exhaust. I should have been more descriptive. I plan to do a review of the exhaust soon. The first videos were just explaining some install issues I faced.

I would say it’s louder than borla. Borla is built a little better but honestly I love this exhaust. Not a lot of people have the Flowmaster setup and it’s loud! I would say the only one as loud as Flowmaster is MBRP.

I didn't get that bad of drone really. It was more than corsa but the Flowmaster screamed when flat out. It sounded almost like a formula car passing people. Was told that many times. I enjoyed them...

I’ll put it this way. None that I don’t want. Comes on when I like it. Seems to disappear at highway speeds or maybe just can’t hear in car. It does drone more than most to be honest. But it’s a very deep gurgly musclecar drone. Even with the issues I had with their first shipment I would do it all again. I don’t think this exhaust gets the recognition it deserves. I have zero reservations about the choice I made and always get compliments from the corsa guys 😂. I need to make a full review video of it. Sorry I haven’t so far. I still have a couple mods waiting to go on car and a catch can Followup video in front of the exhaust video. I added another rev and warm start clip to the clear taillights video. That might give you a better sound of it. It’s hard to record because it maxes out the mic really quick.

Yeah the stock exhaust is loud as is. But it’s deeper and nastier sounding 😬.. when you add headers and xpipe it really gets loud too 😬
