Flowmaster FX Muffler Install onto Cammed 5.3 Sierra

Straight pipes were just too tremendously loud. Had to add on this muffler.

I enjoy all the fuckfaces commenting about the welding that have probably never touched a welder and never will ♥️ Clearly with all of the scrap exhaust with weld beads laying around, I was still learning, and still am. This welder is a shitty Eastwood China welder, I was butt welding, not using the right wire, and not doing anything the “right” way. You can’t “run a bead” on anything that I was doing. It held as long as I needed it to, and I later on welded an entire turbo log manifold together that’s still holding 9k miles later. To everyone else who’s dead grandpa that didn’t raise their kids and grandkids to be cunts to strangers on the internet, thanks for the views and comments.

I think this was more of a fitment issue, you shouldn't really just butt up exhaust pipe like this, expand the pipe or get an exhaust fitting so the pipes fit together and overlap so you can actually weld it clean.

My guess is that it would depend on your local noise ordinance. You can google the local statutes and there might be a decibel level of acceptable volume. I guess you’d have to take a chance and throw the muffler on then have a machine that could tell you the decibel level of your exhaust to verify if it would be within the tolerances of the law.
