I got 23cfm on the exhausts and 17cfm on the intakes. I noticed a big diff in power over the P heads tho especially in the higher rpm range. The Floteks are not garbage. They work.

Man you are pulling some awesome numbers out of those heads especially with 1.94 valves because from what I've heard 300 is about all u can expect out of 2.02 valves and your just about there and that's some awesome skills that you have

FXRSDriver yes sir , I hit up T miss and his reply made me have a bunch of respect for you sir . I value that more than most . What Toms brother emailed me was the intake isn’t the bottleneck . It’s the P head , I’m not wanting to put much money in that head , I don’t like the pedestal rocker set up , and I’d be better off saving my money for a set of decent heads and a better cam . B cam and 1.6-1.7 rockers works fine for what this head is capable of . I put a set of gears in car and drag radials I’ve had a ton of smiles per gallon. I sold the drag radials and I’m going with Hoosier quick time pros on my16” cop/taxi steelies . Working out some bugs now and driving the car . Y’all rock down there love the content .

I got a set of those sooner. You're the first guy to give a positive review! I wanted to use them on my pump gas 351w just to avoid detonation. Also thought bout buying the crank and building a 393w? Got everything but the crsnk?! Your finish numbers are hitting on Victor Jr numbers!

@@FXRSDriver I just need the crank. Now, of the kit comes already balanced! Or, just put a 357w together and shoot the 100 shot on it from time to time! I know, could use it on the 393w! Save you the time of typing. This is a personal challenge for me to build a junkyard dog for as little as possible! With junk literally lying round! If I had a t5 I'd put it in the old Fairmont wagon, it has no ac, ps, pb and was already a stick car. Put a 460 in the truck!

I was looking at a set of heads like these bare. I feel a little better about them and what they can do after I hog them out some. Great video!

I stay away from the hogging out term...LOL!!! If you buy them bare go with the 2.02 valve ones, and use good springs and hardware. I wouldn't even trust the rocker arm studs that come on those.

Regarding the flow numbers from Flowtek, looks like the rows are switched. Meaning that the 0.200" flow numbers are the 0.100" lift figures, the 0.300" are the 0.200", etc. That is if you compare them to the ones that you measured.

I told Rod that when he first got into the 7.0X range that putting these heads on will get it into the 6s for sure, now it's a matter of seeing how far into the 6s it'll go. There's a couple other things I'd like to see him try before the head swap though.

David - have you ever thought about building a simple manometer/shop vac 'flow bench' for your own benefit? I have one I built for under 100 bucks and it's incredibly useful.

I just got a set of FloTek 185's bare. I wanted to add bigger springs for a TFS stage 2 cam, .563 lift. What length valves do I need to get? I want to go with a Ferrea valve. I want to do them just like you did by cutting down around the seal area to fit a better spring. Any info would help me out. Thanks

There's no way to know, you've got to check. Due to the valve angles most likely not, but you've got to ensure yourself when you put it together.

@@torapruitt9491 It's not the lift, it's the duration. Pistons are at or near the bottom when the valve is at max lift. Always a good practice to verify clearance during assembly.

@@torapruitt9491 Yeah, can just get playdoh and put some in and around the valve reliefs then measure how thick it is where the valves contact the clay. You'll want at least .100 on the exhaust and .080 on the intakes.
