Everything becomes second nature, in other words he doesnt have to think about how to react... he just does it. Many benefits to this technical mitt work including muscular endurance. Possibly with floyd having suspected hand problems over the years , this type of padwork doesnt damage them as he isnt going all out power wise compared to the more traditional padwork were power and body mechanics are more utilised. But like all training methods they are objective and open to individual interpretation ie what works for one may not work another

It's a sequence of memorized combos given code names that they've already worked on together, that is designed to work timing, Floyd already knows how to punch, this isn't design to teach that, just more like reflex training. As other's have mentioned they know eachother so well they could probably do it blind folded.

Crazy rythm ..WOW ...thats Matrix like , hypnotizing sincro mastering the present moment reflexes , if you look attentivly between 9 and 10 min , you can see that floyd was looking sideway , he pick up the sincro rythm perfectly and was just flowing with the movement and the speed , Top notch training for deep concentration activating real clear sharp awarness !

What do you think of Achilles Floyd? Attitude 😎 perfect boxer 🥊
@goheat7711 жыл бұрын
From what I see here is moe of musle science. A stationary object like an egg will not break but if suspended from any distance and drps it will break. So it seems as if Roger's method of hitting hard on Floyd's incoming punch is For Floyd to meet Roger half way, receive the GFORCE shock from Roger and Floyd is not to dampen the hit by moving the arm but he stays stationary to receive the full hit from Roger. Bt I also see this training is good for alertness by hitting unnesessary shots to Floyds shoulder. Also Others things cosistant motion left to right will increase indurance. so this exercse can really beat you up. He is receiving hits from Roger not catching them from Floyd which equals to 5 times the weight of his arm depending on the speed Roger is landing hits. I dont think I could do 2 minutes

I also noticed how Pacquiao's trainer does it to him, slapping down hard at Pacquiao's left and right hook non stop for a long period of time. These are things I see nobody talks about or notice.

this is the style of mitt work that got him where he is man all hand i defense based not even that much of a speed based excercise because you can see the foot really isnt on the pedal . no speed no power gains here but reflex and hand eye gains are high. i reckon combining this style with the way canelos trainer runs a mitt session replicating in fight combos with speed and power you could probably be a very diverse fighter
